She'll be busy training Yoda on Dagobah.
With the Father, Son & Daughter.
I could see the former being true, but the latter? Not so much.
@Robimus Includes Ahsoka defeating the Empire all the time.
And Vader twice per season.
I love Spectacular Spider-man, Gargoyles and season 1 of Young Justice. Although it depends who much in put he has.
We shall see.
Ahsoka will call him Skyguy.
Wonder if they'll take TFU as canon or just avoid the issue. I hope there's as little TCW references and ties as possible. Hopefully Weisman will be able to keep Filoni in check.
I have a feeling that you are right. Unfortunately.
This fairly accurately sums up my feelings all day since I heard:
One movie: 2 hours. One TV season: 20+ hours.
George Lucas: 3 billion+ dollars.
As with all things, I will remain cautiously optimistic. My biggest fear is that, unless the series is set 5 BBY - 0 ABY that the origins of the Rebellion will be totally changed or ignored. The series is called REBELS, so one assumes that the Alliance will be featured at one point.
SOMETHING NEW? QUICK, EVERYBODY COMPLAIN!
I notice that nobody's even pointed out the most important revelation of that video: what Filoni looks like without a cowboy hat.
Yeah, they'll probably start the Alliance about a year after ROTS, but in order to keep continuity with the ANH scroll, it will be eighteen seasons of the Rebellion losing battles.
I noticed more that he looks like he's been doing some serious comfort-eating recently...
I just want to say I love you guys.
I'm cautiously optimistic here, as in, I believe it is possible to make a show without Ahsoka, in which case it might be awesome.
One can only hope and pray for something so inspirational.
It's still a business--just because he could spend a billion dollars on it and clothe every character in diamonds doesn't mean it would lead to a successful TV show. To the contrary--he could have forced them to produce it on the cheap and shoved it on SyFy any time he wanted, but it was conceived as having the production value of the films. Even Deadwood, possibly the greatest TV series ever, was killed in the face of high production costs.
I am wildly unenthused.
Both Lucas and McCallum have stated a few times that they've had a pile of scripts already completed for the show; I want to say that over the years I think the number's varied around 30-50 or so? I dunno, I can't remember. Lucasfilm did have meetings with writers and I believe even hired writers to commission scripts for the proposed live action show. The amount and extent of material Lucasfilm produced for the live action show may forever remain unknown, but if there was a decent amount of material, I suspect it would be a good bet that some elements of those scripts might find their way into this new animated series. Perhaps even whole episodes may be re-purposed.
Hard to say really.
Guys I heard that Disney cancelled this. What do we do now?
OBI-WAN: I sense a trap.
ANAKIN: Next move?
OBI-WAN: Spring the trap.
I mean, this era seems pretty untouched that we won't get a deluge of retcons.
I could hardly give a crap about retcons anymore since its a fictional universe we are talking about, but just to keep the fanboy rage to a minimum here.
this is complete and utter speculation, but I feel like Ahsoka and the younglings introduced in the Young Jedi ep are gonna be the focus. This show was already years in the making with the adult Ahsoka model from the Clone Wars arc. No way were they gonna put all that time in a character model just for a throwaway scene.
Ideally, Ahsoka would confront Vader and get killed. Allow for a bit of a sentimental moment where she would realize it was Anakin, and she would call him "Skyguy". That would throw him off and make him realize how far he's come from the good man he was.
Which would totally ruin ROTJ, when Luke is the only one who is supposed to make him come to that realization.
