Full Series Official Star Wars Resistance Discussion Thread (Spoilers Allowed)

First look at the characters:

 

Look pretty decent tbh.

 

The pilot in the back looks like Poe, but the kid in the front kinda looks like Ezra to me. Does anyone else see it?

 

the first order helmets look a bit more intimidating in this art style. Looks like they're bringing in Cardinal, I wonder if we'll get some First Order perspective episodes.

the way the First Order helmets are stylized reminds me of the Stormtrooper helmets from Rebels.

While the artstyle on the right reminds me of Legend of Korra. Though it's small and hard to really tell.

 

mostly humans again.
i kinda expect to see some aliens in a cartoon about space and stuff.
also i want the Pykes. /sad.

 

Looking forward to this, seeing more Phasma etc also holding out hope though for that 2nd Animated series.

 

Jeez do all main leads need to look like Ezra? Otherwise art style looks good. Hopefully get some official news soon.

 

Maybe it is Ezra? after all do we really believe Ezra is gone for good?

So phasma is gonna be the front villain of the new animated show?

 

He reminds me more of the leads from Generator Rex than Ezra... and I don't think that cardinal, the helmet looks more death trooper than stormtrooper.
Also, where are these pics from?

 

hmmm so maybe not Cardinal, maybe a special First Order pilot for the protagonists to thwart?

 

The guy in the back is definitely Poe. I don't think that's Ezra though. I do believe he'll be in Resistance, but he'll probably be like Ahsoka in Rebels, not reintroduced until a couple seasons.

The art style looks awesome! Was afraid it’d look too anime-ish, but this looks great and somewhat like Rebels, which I love. Really excited for this show!

 

Looks a little bit like Forces of destiny to me.

 

They announced it would be 2D Computer animated. So not really traditional cell shading and multiplane animation, but it is also not going to be 3D modeled like Rebels and Clone Wars if that makes sense.

They look like cell shaded 3D models to me.

 

Wow. I guess I just Mandela Effected an entire part of that initial announcement. Thanks for fact checking me because I totally thought they announced that the Forces of Destiny team was the one that was doing the animation.

I guess I just blended the initial comments on this thread into a false memory, because I definitely cannot find a story or article talking about 2D.

and what's wrong by anime-inspired animation?
Avatar the Last Airbender and the Legend of Korra looked beautiful that way and were very "anime-inspired"

 

yea this is what I thought but wasn't sure, didn't Lucasfilm originally say The Clone Wars Cartoon was Anime?

 

I hope that is Cardinal in the red armor. He was a good character in Phasma, and it would be good to see more of her character, in conflict with him.
