This would be an awesome new cartoon series from Cartoon Network (drawn similar to Clone Wars)...

    it could explain and show:
    Yoda and the cave
    ObiWan watching over Luke
    Bail watching over Leia
Vader dominating the universe with his troops
    Han and Lando meeting
    Chewie and Han meeting
    Palpatine and Vader's relationship
    The building of the rebellion
    THe building of the deathstar

    what do you think?

As long as it's animation, if they hire a load of new actors to potray the cast, it's not real star wars.

How is hiring a different actor any different than havinga stylized animated rendition of the character, or having a different actor voicing the character?

A lot of difference actually. When I watch Clone Wars I can picture Obi-Wan actually being Ewan McGregor and can imagine it real. If in Live Action, another actor like Clint Eastwood or whatever was playing Obi-Wan then I can't see it.

Yeah i have to agree there. Keep it animated.

Though i doubt Clint would do it :p

But if they did manage to get an actor who looked and sounded similar enough, it'd be the same exact thing.

It wouldn't for me becuase to me it's better to have a single person or 2 people only in a Prequel like situation to base the appearance of character off of because you'll then have somewhat more consistancy.

Not for me it wouldn't. No one will look exactly like Ewan McGregor, Mark Hammil, Harrison Ford, it'll never happen. Animations the way to go if you ask me.
