Holy cow! The lower center ship really looks like the Ghost from Star Wars Rebels! From this TV spot.

Holy cow. I don't like to say definitely a lot but that is at least definitely the same make/model as the ghost!

 

So... apparently I'm in love with this movie more than TFA.

The thing is it would have to be the Ghost crew right? Like what's the point of having their model ship there and for it not to be them?

 

The cruellest fake-out imaginable? Versus one of the greatest easter eggs ever?

EDIT: Wow. Vue Stratford has a ton of showngs for this on 15 Dec, quite a few in 2D! I think I'm seeing a plan come together...

 

That actually looks really cool, though I hate a few of Battlefront's mechanics (shields, unlimited torpedoes). A few immediate thoughts.

1) The pilot (and far too many modern gamers) is apparently Logan from Westworld: "Waaa, I'm bored because I don't need to use my guns RIGHT NOW. I'm going to shoot at friendlies until I get bad guys to shoot at, then shoot at friendlies some more."

2) This was much more like Rebel Assault than it was X-Wing. Still, I LOVED the waypoint mechanics, the ability to lock onto teammates, and indicators as to which ships are talking.

3) Not only was the player character a woman, but so was Red Leader. That's half the flight! Yay gender balance.

4) Someone, right now, needs to thaw Lawrence Holland out of the carbonite brick he's been in for the past 15 years and tell him he has a job to do.

That's what we said about the YT-2400 on Rebels. That said, all we really need is for someone to chime in for Phoenix Squadron during a roll call.

All my dreams are coming true.

 

That Rogue One VR X-wing experience looks really nice—starting to wish I had a VR system after seeing that. I wish the protagonist's VA did a better job on line delivery, though. Everyone else sounds great, but she sounds like she's just reading off a script.

It'll just be a fun little cameo of the ship, basically as a cool Easter Egg for people who watch the show. I doubt that they show the crew. But IF they do, then all that they'd have to do is leave Kanan and Ezra out and just show the others. That way you avoid the question of why two Jedi aren't more involved in the mission, while also not spoiling whatever their ultimate fates are meant to be on the show.

While I'm happy for the Ghost's inclusion....uh, the Outrider was in the Special Edition.

 

Yes and no. At the time the Special Editions were made, the YT-2400 inserted in ANH was indeed meant to be the Outrider, because SOTE was canon back then. Now, that ship is just an unidentified YT-2400. Heck, perhaps it's Sato's Hammer!
