If I could, I'd be tempted to change my vote to the Echo arc...

 

Wasn't there supposed to be a RotS crossover to end it all?

I only would have wanted that if it worked with while not repeating anything from the micro series. Which I kind of doubt would have happened.

 

I have a feeling the Ahsoka/Katan Arc took after Mauldalore and before Ahsoka's departure.

 

I think there were have been plenty of opportunity to tell a story that runs concurrently with ROTS and ties into it, without retreading anything.

Like following Rex, Ahoka and Yularen, instead of the cast from the films.

In ANH, Palpatine disbands the Senate. But it doesn't show this, we don't even see the Emperor for the entirety of the film, we only hear about it. They could have easily have done something where we hear, but don't see the events leading up to the Battle of Coruscant, or we could have even seen a large chunk of the Battle of Coruscant from Yularen't perspective (the Battle was well underway before Anakin and Obi-Wan show up). I was actually watching the Battle of Coruscant earlier today and just appreciating some of the background details, and there is a significant number of ships in that battle. Enough that the Resolute could have been any one of those Venators and without two small Jedi starfighters ever crossing the screen or same area of space.

Or they could have ended the series with the Resolute getting the snot beaten out of it, and ending with a comm officer reporting an incoming transmission from Obi-Wan and Anakin that they've arrived - end series.

But even beyond that, they could have gone right up to Order 66 without showing a single thing from ROTS, as it's a big Galaxy, a large scale war, and there could be characters in the Outer Rim that don't have a clue what's happening on Coruscant. They could merely get word that Palpatine has been given control of the Senate, without showing this (you would hear about this more directly in ROTS). Or a Jedi that survives the initial slaughter of Order 66, but then gets the "stay away" signal and flees. Where we would see the impact of something that happened in ROTS, without actually retreading any events themselves, merely hearing about them, or seeing their aftermath.

If Order 66 is a Manchurian Candidate thing, then what does someone like Yularen think when the clones on the Resolute all start pointing their blasters at Ahsoka and he has no idea what's going on, and it just looks like Palpatine disrespected the chain of command, but contacting his subordinates directly? Despire sitting aboard the Death Star in ANH, what does he do here? Does he try to interfere and help her, or does he grab a carbine himself and try to shoot her? etc.

 

It would have been after Ahsoka's departure. They would have brought Ahsoka back as a guest, probably after a few seasons without her around.

 

Well, the Resolute was already destroyed back at the Battle of Sullust.

 

TaradosGon I'm not saying they couldn't have done that, just that they wouldn't value keeping it that clean enough to put in the requisite effort to pull it off.

 

Sorry, I'm new around here, but where were all these teased? I've been trying to find information about the now-missing seasons of The Clone Wars and I haven't been able to find any.

You know which one I voted for. I don't care if the co-star is R2 and it turned out to be a goofy droid arc. Might have ended with a death that made me shoot blood from my eyes. I always want more Rex on screen.

 

I know that feeling. I just want to see anything that was ever created after Season 5.


Even if I am not as a big a fan of Rex as you, dear Seerow, I will admit that there needed to be a lot more of him in the final season. I think the whole final part of the Order 66 arc would have been more emotional and impacting if Rex was closer to the events of the arc.


Soooo... I guess I am the only one that wants another Mon Calamari arc WITH TIKKKESSSS!!??! Cool!

 

Definitely the Darth Maul arc. I mean, it is bad enough that they revive a fallen enemy to do so much in one season, they make Sidious not kill him, but announce that he has other plans for him.
So much hype that resulted in nothing. I know that the show's cancellation might have been the reason, but still; they should have closed Maul's storyline in Season 6.

 

I really want an ARC that focus on clones and their personality development like the Umbara one

 

You know, maybe what we always needed with an arc with both Rex and Tikkes in it.

 

YES, YES, YES! That could have worked in any form - either Rex be in epic scuba armour and attack a base of Tikkes on Mon Calamari or another planet connected with Tikkes. Make Tikkes the leader of Free Dac Volunteers Engineering Corps and have Tikkes try to make more Malevolence-type ships. Dreading more XP like the one in S1, Anakin takes his best men and takes several legions to end the ship-making menace of Tikkes.
Rex can get some new armor for the different terrain. Wolf Pack can not be the only ones getting an upgrade each season. Tisk, tisk.

Like I have said before I would give anything to have Tikkes be on TCW so I would not mind him getting axed on the show.
There were rumors of an arc that has Rex leading a special commando unit. Why didn't they have Tikkes be on Utapau, but before he could run away to Mustafar (since the Quarren is nowhere on Mustafar) Tikkes could be chased on Utapau and cornered by Rex's squad. Then we could have had both Rex and Tikkes and commandos. It could have been a moral dilemma if to shoot this dangerous war criminal. You know... all the good moral issues that come out of being a clone in this crazy TCW universe.

I felt like the Sifo-Dyas investigation wasn't over at the end of "Sacrifice". I want to see the rest of the investigation.

 

Yes! Yes! Yes bro. Rex in scuba armor would have been awesome. That would have been a cool plot with Anakin and Rex and the 501st going down there to stop the production of the Malevolence 2. Now with twice the power and Mar Tuuk driving it do crap gets done. Rex and co can be the ones coming to the rescue for once instead of Wolfpack and yeah Rex and co needed some more updates. Really any excuse to put them on screen. Imagine if this had come before ARC Troopers? It could have been a showcase episode for Echo and Fives giving us some good evidence for why Rex picked them for the 501st and later to be promote to arc troopers.

You would have been ok with TCW killing him off? I would add careful what you wish for. TCW will probably recon your favorite characters and then you may not be so happy to see him. I think the rumors were more about Fives leading commandos. That probably wasn't right though seeing how Fives is dead. Moral dilemma to shoot dangerous criminal doesn't sound all that far off from the plans for Rex to escort the real Rako Hardeen off of Coruscant. I can only imagine how cool that would have been.

Maybe we should move this discussion to either the old story ideas thread. I may need to unlock that one. Or even the TCW General discussion thread.

 

What hurts the most is that they had so many good ideas and instead chose to waffle around and show us the likes of Meebur Gascon, Evil Plans, Corruption, and R2 and 3PO's magic pixie adventures, eating up precious, finite screen time.

There's always the possibility that the Ahsoka / Bo-Katan arc was to have been an arc with Ahsoka still in the order.

If the Ahsoka Fugitive arc and its conclusion was how the TCW team originally planned to end S5 anyway then I don't know in what capacity she would have been communicating with the Jedi council while doing whatever on Mandalore. On the other hand, if the Ahsoka Fugitive arc and its conclusion was a rush-job brought about by the fact that they became aware Disney was going to cancel the show, and they needed to do something about Ahsoka quickly to clear the deck for RoTS, then it's entirely possible the original intent of that Mandalore / Bo-Kaan story concept involved her still being a Jedi at that point.

 

I'm in the camp that would like to see all of the above resolved as I absolutely loved the show. That being said I'm in agreement with those who wanted more of Rex. The Order 66 arc would have absolutely been better if Rex's involvement had been more prevalent. This makes me believe we absolutely have not seen the last of him. Much like my belief we have not seen the last of Ahsoka, Cad Bane, Ventress, and the rest of the Bounty Hunters. Disney isn't stupid, their motivation is money, and the fans of this show have made their voices heard. Honestly, at this point, the conversation shouldn't be "will" we see these characters, but "how" and "when". I don't know if they'll appear in "Rebels", but I could definitely see a Netflix original movie or two. At least I'm hoping we will!

I have to agree to a degree. I do like the Gascon adventure, but "Evil Plans" and "Corruption" and "Nomad Droids" can burn in hell. These episodes saw the light of day, but an arc about Quinlan Vos vs Maul did not?! "Shadow Warrior" was made, but an arc about Tikkes never made it!? WHAT!?!?

I can not believe the Bounty Hunters arc did not make it, but "Evil Plans" made it. I heard rumors that the Bounty Hunters arc of S6/S7 was meant to tie some loose ends with Bane and Aurra and Fett. Instead an episode about cake and Cad Bane, an episode that could have been summed up in one narrator line, made it into the show and advance nothing. A shame...

A cancellation that did not need to happen. Pointless...
