I picked up the game at midnight, and played it for two hours last night. So far, I love it.

Gametrailers's review crushed it for all the things I feared it be.

    http://www.gametrailers.com/video/review-hd-the-force/706693

Like they said, it doesn't have the Star Wars spirit.

Best way to sum it up is, THIS is how the first game should have played (minus the extra saber)... more an "IS what it IS" statement than praise or criticism.

Combat is more smooth. Targeting still is a little iffy at times, but overall the enemies are more strategic, and there is a good mix of them. The story is tolerable and leaning towards somewhat cool, albeit off... and the more I play, the more I like it. Its fun to play, the action is tight... and the more I learn about the story... the more it leans to Vader pulling some massive strings. I am pleasantly surprised, to say the least. I thought I'd hate it.

Somehow, I knew you wouldn't be able to resist buying the thing, even with all the bad. :p

    Meh. I preordered it...:p

Funny thing is, I cancelled the 'collector's edition' and then pre-ordered the regular one about two hours later. I have a buddy out west who buzzed me after playing it and he said get it. I must admit that I am having a hard time NOT liking it. Somehow, Vader doesn't look like an impotent douchebag. Call me crazy, but I'm seeing this as Vader of old. But then again, I'm only at the Salvation level, near the end. Should they dump on him, I'll be back to bashing this pig faster than you can impale Rhett from behind.

If work hadn't been required, I'd be finished by now.:D

The fighting is better, and targeting is better. However the story is WICKED short. I beat the game in 5 hours, and that's just the light side and not getting all the trophies. Final battle was a tad frustrating. It's good, and I'd love to go into details...but I won't spoil it for people who haven't played/finished the game yet.

Something tells me they are banking on the hope that tons of younglings will replay all the challenges ad-nauseum to compare scores/medals. Doesn't do much for those of us who could give a wamprat's ass about trophies, but hey... SW is 4 kidz. Or at least that's what they keep telling tell me....[face_blush]

Let me guess, Anthony Gallegos? :p Seems like LA went a bit OTT with this game. Such a shame.

    Gamespot no likin' it either.
    http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/starwarstheforceunleashed2/review.html

Shame. Must say that this puts Blackman's recent departure and the new ass in charge in a more cohesive light.
If your lead man behind the entire series quits the company, then your new CEO immediately lays off half the staff, you might expect a lack of overall polish.

Dang. For the most part I usually agree with Gamespot's reviews. Oh well, this actually means that I get to save up money for either AC2, Fable 3 (yes, I'm a Fable fan despite my disappointment with Fable 2's story--or lack thereof), Arkham 2, or heck, maybe even Epic Mickey (depending on how good the reviews for those games are).

Truth be told, the reviews and comments from friends about the first game convinced me to put off getting that one too until years after its release when a pre-owned copy was being sold for $10. Definitely got more than my $10 worth out of it, but I would have been pretty upset if I had paid full price.

Thank god I got a refund from my pre-order. Luckily I found a copy for rent from Blockbuster on day one.:D

I think I'll just buy the "Ultimate Sith Edition" (If LucasArts ever makes one) for TFU II with all the DLC and other stuff.

And I am not happy to say that....

    gametrailers gave it a 6.3
gamespot gave it a 6.0 fair review for the ps3

    I am hugely disappointed.
I take alot from Star Wars and I'll probably enjoy it to some degree or another, but since its the only star wars game in 2010 I was hoping for a review over 7.0.

Also, noticed hardly any star wars games are being made any more.

    Heres 2005:
Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
    Battlefront II
Lego Star Wars: The Video Game
    Republic Commando
Galaxies: Episode III Rage of the Wookiees
    Galaxies: The Total Experience
    Galaxies: Trials of Obi-Wan
    Galaxies: Starter Kit

    Heres 2009:
    Battlefront: Elite Squadron
The Clone Wars ? Republic Heroes (and it got awful reviews)

    Heres 2010:
    Force Unleashed 2
    which also has awful reviews

ONE GAME in 2010 and its not great.

WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT TO MAKE A GOOD STAR WARS GAME?

Lightsaber duels, republic heroes, and now this.

I'd trade the last 3 star wars games for Battlefront 3 or Rogue Squadron 3.

Sigh, guess we just have to keep waiting for a good game.

P.S. Also you could say that Clone Wars adventures was a game, but thats a matter of opinion really since its just a collection of minigames.

Well, at least we now know which was the one game from that '09 VGA that kicked some serious ass in '10. And TFU2 was not it... :D

I tend not to read reviews since i know many reviewers talk to each other as to why some reviews come out the same.

i've played it and it still has it's camera issue's but the action is intense. i've played it on HARD and there is no forgiveness here. i think the first came was more story driven then part 2 but part 2 does have a lot of action in it.

the combo's for the lightsaber are fun but could of used more then 2 styles on a finishing move. the force powers are so cool to use and with out going uber powerful i think the team did ok with this.

the story is the big part missing from the first one. your a clone and you are thrown right into action. but the art is amazing. i did find some glitches where i can jump to and then get stuck and see the parts the team don't want you too see, but i am a glitch finder.

more testing should of been done on this game before release. but most of the original team was not on part 2. they will tell you it was the same team minus about 30 people.

all in all it's not a 60 dollar game for gamers to buy, it's more of a $40 dollar game. but if you are a star wars nut like me, the extra 20 won't hurt.

    i score this game 7.0

You have something to look forward to by next year, maybe...Disney Hollywood Studios at Disney World is remaking their Star Wars Star Tours ride into a Star Wars Podracing Ride!

Well, the reviews are more middling than awful. That said...I do miss the old days of X-Wing and Jedi Knight. Heck, reading about FU2 makes me want to install Jedi Academy again.

Funny, I was just thinking about this a little while ago: How crap like TFU represents the raping of all things SW that begun with TPM and has continued since, whereas games like the old X-Wing and Jedi Knight series represented the best of SW gaming.

    *sighs*

It sucks getting old and see how the incredibly bad has replaced all that was good with the world. :(

Now now Invidious. Things aren't that bad. We still have portal and portal 2 and hopefully a decent Mass effect 3

I haven't played the game yet but do somebody now who the Neimoidian longside Baron Tarko is and what is role in the game? Is there any other Neimoidians in the game, if so who are they? It would be nice if you could tell me something of the planet Cato Neimoidian too. My favorite race in Star Wars are the greedy and cowardly Neimoidans, as perhaps you can tell :).

My guess is you'll be very happy to know that one of the unlockable costumes is a Nemoidian skin. Kid you not. I wondered, who in the heck wants one of those? Now, I know.

The only in-game Nemoidian action revolves aroud the release of the Gorog.
And, there are tons of Nemoidian paintings inside the casino. Sadly, a lightsaber cannot damage them.:p

    Cheat Code Update:
    HAAZEN = Sith Acolyte
    VENTRESS = Dark Rhett
    MAREK = Force Repulse

*If your nexgen console still has TFU1 game files on it, you will also get bonus costumes.
    Rhett-training gear
    Sith Stalker Armor
