The Jedi Bendu scripts (the first drafts of ANH) are so far from the final work that I think you could make a truly original Sci-Fi/Fantasy trilogy out of it. They're really good and with a little bit of name-changing, they could really do well as movies.

    Anybody agree?

    I sure do. :)

Actually, I haven't read the Jedi Bendu scripts, so I wouldn't know.

I have always thought that too. I was totally entertained reading them. I would love to see them as films. They could be Star Wars films done by the Lucas family as an "Infinities" or parallel universe type of thing. Or, someone else could do them (Probably never happen).

I actually read the script for the first time today and I was amazed!!! I thought it was cool that almost every body had lightsabers. Even Han and stormtroopers have them!

I like the fact that there are sith knights and many Jedi Knights around still.

There is no Ben Kenobi though, thats the only sad part. But the script really makes for good reading.

Its funny that Tarken is presented as a good guy, lol. Oh and stormtroopers are tuskens too hehehe.

Deak Starkiller is one bad mofo!

Yeah, I read the scripts ages ago (and hence don't remember much other than that they were very different than the actual SW scripts 8-}); and yes, I do think that they'll be a nice addition to the Infinities.

(Then, we'd have something to look forward to after Episode III. ;))

If you read them closely, you'll see lot's of areas where Lucas expanded on original ideas.

    The young princess - Padme
The invasion of Utapau = invasion of Naboo (which was going to be called Utapau originally)
    Hmmm the Ewok trek
If memory serves, then the Acklay
    A lot of themes etc.
I saw a lot of the PT in there actually.
It really was quite an amazing read.

    Here ya go...

    Jedi Bendu Script Site

There is no Ben Kenobi though, thats the only sad part.

You're right, he is not called Ben Kenobi, but the Ben Kenobi character is obviously General Skywalker in the Jedi Bendu scripts.

An incredible site, and I myself contributed several of the scripts on there to Bjorn Wahlberg, the proprietor (along with some others that he's in the process of putting up). :)

The only one I really read and liked was the second draft.

The rough and first drafts were horrible!

    I never read the third.

And obviously, the fourth became the movie.

There is also a Clieg Whitsun in the first scripts!

Clieg Whitsun=Clieg Lars and Beru Whitesun?

I've read bits of them. They're creative, I'll give them that, but I prefer what they've evolved into: curren Star Wars. It would be interesting to see what they world turn out like in movie form.

The main thing I liked about the Bendu scripts was that there was no rule of 2. meaning there were more than two Sith Lord's. It just seems a little cooler but I'm perfectly happy with the movies exactly as they are.

There was no rule of 2 in the OT either that was invented for the PT. :D

As one of the people who helped put the Starkiller site together, along with my friend Bjorn Wahlberg, (no relation, he just has the same last name as me, that's how we met) I'm glad to see the interest in the script drafts. If anyone is interested, I wrote a script sequel to the second draft called "Adventures of the Starkiller Episode 2: The Princess of Ondos", which continues the story of Luke Starkiller and his brother Deak. You can find it on the Jedi Bendu Script site in the Fan Corner section.

I dont buy that. If that were true, why didn't Palpatine just have both Vader and Luke. Two sith lords are better than one, there was unstated rule behind it. IMHO.

Brendon - I read the story. It's wonderful. Too bad it's never going to be made into a film. :( Would have made one very good movie. ;)
