ST Star Wars: The Last Jedi (Ep. VIII) - Dec 15th, 2017

It might be better for Episode IX, but it's impossible to say without knowing where TLJ leaves off the characters and story. Just a gut feeling.

 

Does anyone have a clue why Mark Stanley who was credited in SW 7 as the clan leader that got killed, is now listed on imdb as a knight of Ren?

 

PH said it's a mistake. He really is a "clan leader" not a KoR.

 

My best guess for Ep IX title is "The New Jedi Rise"

I knew people didn't even know about TLJ. Another notch in the terrible marketing belt for LFL.

So now there's new information about a planet where the big action scene takes place...a mine/base for the Resistance. (See the news post on the main homepage.)

Sooooo...Since I believe this to be the appropriate thread (and cos we're really basically just down to counting the days on here), I thought I'd voice some opinions.

So I like this idea of a "salt flat" type planet, with volcanic activity underneath. Sounds interesting! Also I like the idea of a mine from which the Resistance gets funding for their forces. Still not sure how I feel about these "gorilla-shaped" heavy assault walkers but if the hearsay that the B-Wings will reappear is true, then I'm excited for that!

After learning the planet name however: "Crait" (if that does infact turn out to be the real name) I'm not so much a fan of. Really, I'm just kind of overall not so into the names picked for TLJ so far, which all sound like some other kind of word or definition in the English language:

Crait = Crate
Canto Bight = Canto Bite, or Can't Bite
Ahch-To = Act Two, or "Octo"

I mean Jakku, Takodana, Hosnian...Eadu, Scarif, Jedha......Those were great-and original-sounding names! But with these so far (if they are the real names), they just sound like when they were writing the script they just looked around the room and used words they saw on things for the planet names. A wonder we didn't get ones like: Calculatoris, or Coffeelia, or like...Chairattak or something....


Either way, I'll go into it with an open mind-after all, it's basically just hearsay at this point on how exactly they will look...

Song Bay. Given that we know Dubrovnik has a Bay, and that there's lot of entertainment happening in this city, I think some thought went into the name.
