Of course I don't believe in that ridiculous thread title, but check out this page:

    http://www.capalert.com/capreports/starwarsstudy.htm

I can't believe that actual people actually write such stuff.

    [face_laugh] HA HA HA [face_laugh]

    Thank you!
    I needed a good laugh!

    [face_laugh]
    Under "offence to God, ESB"
"Pray [to me - Vader] that I don't alter [the deal for the cloud city] any further."

While I realise that some people may agree with this and be offended by what I've said, I doubt any of them are here. ;)

Have these people got nothing else better to do? Seems like paranoia to me.

Beware parents! ANH has "series of alein (sic) 'monsters' "! ESB contains "inappropriate touching"! And worst of all, TPM contains "statue nudity"! (dun dun DUN!!!!)

Holy sugar. These people need to find a better way to spend their time. For starters they could stop beating their children with Bibles and step out into the real world.

okay, that is really reaching. I can't believe people can survive in this world with that 14th century mentality.

    Very lame!

Star Wars, Harry Potter, and no doubt Lord of the Rings soon...why is it that the fundamentalists (who do not represent normal Christians, I should add) always have to attack anything that becomes popular?

    what a load of bs.

I hate the way some religious people try to set themselves up as goody-goody and think that everyone has to think the same way they think.

As a 16 year old Christian, let me tell you how lame that is. That's almost as lame as all the crap on www.chistiananswers.net What a bunch of narrow minded extremests.

    RAOTFLMAO [face_laugh]

Surely these people are missing the point. SW is fundamentally about the struggle between good and evil, and the final redemption of a 'sinner'.

I really liked those cute little 'wisdom' graphs.

If you read any dictionary it will tell you that wisdom means: Enlightened understanding of what is true or right, usually aquired through long experience, as distinguished from a partial or specialised knowledge. OR Common sense, sagacity, good judgment

Clearly the author(s) do not have good judgment and have let their faith cloud their vision.

If God knew these kind of people are using his name to protest something like this...he'd turn athiest. I'm Catholic...and my head hurts just reading this crap! I'm having visions (that's a sin by the way) of some fanatical christian group sitting around watching SW with notepads keeping track of every moment they find offensive. The fun part was reading through the lists and picking out which scenes they were refering to. The only nice thing they had to say was that apparently (with the exception of Palpatine and Maul) we are a form of "clean violence."

On a side note...Ariana Lang forgetting her own age (I've done it to) but as was said to me...I share with you: "Ha, Ha, Ha, you're a dork" :)

I can't believe this... ::shakes her head:: I'm a deeply-believing Roman Catholic, but this thing was a TOTAL CRAP!!! I mean, Star Wars is a FANTASY! It's not a Bible or anything... And there were a few points when I couldn't decide whether to laugh or cry...

    ANH
series of alein 'monsters' -- aside from misspelled "alien", this was considered as (quote) "Wanton Violence/Crime". So does that mean that every time an alien appears in a movie it's a CRIME?
female anatomy ghosting through thin clothing -- LOL, I bet that's reference to Leia and her senatorial dress... [face_laugh] :p
levitation -- where there is levitation in ANH? ?[face_plain] Is there a point I missed?

    TESB
gutting a dead animal for warmth -- that was a CRIME???
glimpse of mutilated scalp -- do you remember seeing a mutilated scalp? ?[face_plain] I don't...
"sword" fights with amputation and decapitation -- OK, we've seen amputation, but decapitation??? ::tries desperately to remember where she saw decapitation in TESB:: Sorry, I can't remember any... ;)
one use of the three/four letter word vocabulary -- "Then I'll see you in hell!" :p LOL!
inappropriate touching -- "Sorry, sweetheart. Haven't got time for anything else..." ;) :D

    ROTJ
threatening-looking alien "monsters" -- again, this was considered a Violence/Crime... ::shakes her head:: Oh boy...
threats with a firearm -- when? ?[face_plain] Oh, they meant the thermal detonator... :p
    death -- which one? ;)
rationalization of a lie and encouragement to lie -- I understand the "rationalization" part ("...a certain point of view"), but encouragement???
partial nudity -- LOL! [face_laugh] Leia's slave girl bikini... [face_laugh]
Murder/Suicide (M)(4): none noted -- ROTFLOL!!! This is hilarious... and Vader DIDN'T throw Palpy down that shaft, nooo, never... your eyes were deceiving you... ;)

    TPM
exceptionally evil character -- uhm, I guess they meant Maul... Force, Vader was more evil...
a small issue of a little boy's arrogance against mother's authority re: going to bed (sound familiar?) -- now I don't get this. I know that Shmi had to call Anakin twice, but he couldn't go right after the first call, because Qui-Gon was cleaning his cut!
Scant clothing -- where for Force's sake? ?[face_plain] Boy, I wonder what will they say after AOTC... ;)
repeatedly equating "the force" with God's Will and His Control -- well DUH, the Force is their (the Jedi's) view on the God... However you want to call God; the Life, the Spirit, the Father, the Love, the Way, the Light,.... the Force. :)
graphic murder by sabre (impalement through body) -- THAT was graphic? [face_laugh] Please, there wasn't even blood... ::shakes her head::

I think I'm going to write them an e-mail... This is ridiculous...

P.S.: You know what? I think we ALL should write them an e-mail... Here's their address: chldcare@startext.net Write them an e-mail and tell them your opinion on this. :D

[face_laugh] That is just...pathetic. I am a 16 year old Christian (yes, I really am, I'm not mistaking myself for 17...but yeah that has happened to me, forgetting my age :) )
Anyway, that was the most ridiculous article I have ever, ever read. Inappropriate touching, huh. Tch, lol. *rolls eyes* And no murder in RotJ, huh. Hehehe...and by the way, what glimpse of a mutilated scalp? ?[face_plain]

The mutilated scalp is Vader's head when he's in that chamber on the Executer and Piet(?) interrupts.

    As for the decapitation...? ?[face_plain]

Well, they don't seem to have any problems with talking robots, life on other planets not mentioned in the Bible, children of different species associating with eachother, 8-foot bipedal hairy animals with no pants, the use of a Biblical name (Luke), 2-foot bipedal hairy animals with no pants, and lobster-men who give orders, all of which graphically denounce Biblical creed. So how bad can they be?

I think everything they say is stupid or dumb. I don't even care about whether it offends God or not, it may or may not, but what we need to tell them is this: LUCAS DID NOT ALWAYS/NECESSARILY HAVE GOD IN MIND WHEN HE CREATED STAR WARS.

Plus, when that pathetic article denounces SW for violence, I'd like to tell them this: Wake up! It's a freakin WAR, for crying out loud! Yeah I'm sure the authors do not support the Holy Crusades, eh?

Get with the the times, people!

On the other hand, back in '77 I bought (and still have) a book called "The Force of STAR WARS" which looks at the film as a Christian allegory. It's a very interesting read, and the author clearly likes the movie.

While there are any number of movies out there that certainly look demonically-inspired, the STAR WARS series ain't one of them.
And I'm an conservative, evangelical Christian saying that.

They even had the indecency to make a critique of Bond (specifically The World Is Not Enough). [face_plain]

Also, if they were paying so much attention, why then under ROTJ:

    Drugs/Alcohol (D):
    none noted

Wasn't Jabba smoking a bong in pretty much every scene he was in ;)

I should submit this to Portal of Evil.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! That page is either trying to take itself seriously, or someone has too much time on their hands.
