Crap, I remember reading that somewhere, but I can't remember where. It has something to do with that symbol being the number eight from some old culture. The eight represents eight aspects of a Jedi's life, or something like that. Emperor Palpatine defaces it by taking away two prongs and using it as the Imperial symbol. I think.

i want to say that it was eight times as long...
according to this page, the ratio is somewhat of a mystery... between 8 and 12 times the length of a regular ISD...the page concludes that it is about 11 or 12 times as long

It's five. The regular SD is 1600 meters long, the SSD is 8000 meters long. According to the SW Encyclopedia anyway.

How many TIE bombers are typically carried on a standard Star Destroyer?

That part of the ship where this one goes there, and that one goes there. :D

Seriously, I'd guess something having to do with the hyperdrive. He is very distracted while he's fixing the thing, so that may explain the hyperdrive's many problems throughout the movie.

^ Are you sure about that? I thought it was Imperial, Super, and Victory

Cloak of the Sith is an area in space that is very dangerous, and has a belt of asteroids and other cosmic debris that block access to the Roon system. Spacer legend claims that the Roon star system is filled with treasures.

    New Question:

In ROTJ, on the Endor moon, Chewie climbs onto an AT-ST and tossed out the occupants. What was the true identity of one of the men?

    A. George Lucas
    B. Richard Marquand (Director)
    C. John Williams

/\ That's what the SW Encyclopedia said. The Essential Guide to SHips and Vehicles attests to 5 classes of Star Destroyer:

Victory was the original design "near the end of the Clone Wars...and formed the core of the space fleet after that turbulent era." It is also the one we see in the trilogy.

Imperial was another design used during the trilogy, but not seen in the movie.

Imperial II was an updated Imperial-class SD, and "began appearing shortly after the Battle of Yavin."

Super SDs were built solely for psychological purposes, since "a smaller ship could fulfill its misison duties."

Eclipse was built by the Clone Palpatine as a command center to replace the Death Star. it was twice the size of the Super-Class, and was was painted entirely black.

    I'll guess Richard Marquand. :D
