    Ok not directly facing, but I mean they still face the screen more than anything else in the room don't they?

    Which part of the chair would have the "eyes". Surely most of a chair's view is taken up by the chair in front

    Well, I would guess the very top of the chair would provide the best viewing angle.

    We don't want the chairs to be straining themselves now do we?

    But that's not very likely is it - to have the eyes right at the top. Unless chairs were created by Gungans

    [image=http://www.oodlesofpartsplus.com/images/aeron_side_chair_diagram.jpg]

    We can see here how a chair is constructed. It seems clear that the eyes are in the centre of the backpiece.

    Thus using trigonometry, we can quickly deduce that 45% of the chair's vision would be impaired by the seat in front, and another 23% would be obscured by any person sitting in the aforementioned chair.

    I think you will find that your calculations are not accurate for the standard cinema chair. Only cinemas built during the sponge shortage of '93 are built to the same proportions which you used in you equations.

    He would say "YA WHART???" Then punch you in the face, if you dodged the punch and the chav punched the wall the chav would have his ugly sovereign rings embedded painfuly into his fingers....
