Finn never fired his gun before TFA. But I guess that was your point?

An open world RPG where you play as a pre-TPM Anakin on Tatooine.

I would like to see a Han Solo and Chewbacca co-op based game, where you and a friend(or a bot, if you are by yourself) can play as Han and Chewie during their smuggling days. I am surprised that there are not more co-op games being made.

How about a game where you play as the Grand Inquisitor?

Dude, that actually sounds pretty awesome! I'd definitely would play that. Maybe during the campaign they would encounter Boba Fett?

I've always been wanting there to be another starfighter game like Rogue Squadron. Disney please make that happen!

Star Wars is really nice because it lends itself really well to various kinds of games. :) The one I haven't seen yet that might be interesting is some kind of a diplomacy/strategy game in which you start as a lowly member of the Senate, maybe even an aide. The end game would be to negotiate for example a peaceful end to the Separatist crisis, thus preventing the Clone Wars altogether. (I imagine this goal could even vary from campaign to campaign.)

You'd have the familiar senators and other personalities there, representing their worlds or causes. You could form alliances with them, and you'd make enemies among those who oppose your agendas or who you tick off because you didn't offer them your assistance or didn't agree with their proposals. If you could manage to manoeuvre yourself as the Chancellor, you'd probably have more pull in moving things in your direction in the Senate, but it would also make you an open target to anyone with opposing ideologies, so trying to become the Chancellor instead of remaining a Senator could be a possibility only, a high risk, high reward type of a choice rather than a direct and necessary part of "winning". Something like this might work decently both as single and multiplayer.

A game where the primary gameplay emphasis is on lightsaber combat. I don't care where/when it's set (though The Old Republic era would be ideal) nor what the story's about. I just want a Star Wars game where the franchise's most unique and iconic weapon isn't an afterthought. Scaled back force powers would be a plus too.

Have you played Jedi Outcast or Jedi Academy? I feel these fit the criteria you are describing, because in my opinion they have the most realistic lightsaber combat of all Star Wars games. Like if you get hit by a lightsaber even once it could nearly or completely kill you.

Of course, but I want something for a more modern engine. While JK2 and JKA's combat were great for their time and still play well, they haven't aged perfectly. The slashes feel disconnected, lacking rhythm or "flow". There's also no real parrying, and the occasional saber-locks are based solely on mashing the attack button.
It would be awesome to have something akin to Witcher 3's combat system. The blend of dodging, slashing, parrying, and magical abilities in that game makes for a satisfyingly fluid and strategic play.

But have you played the Force Unleashed?

To be honest, that's pretty much why I wouldn't want a lightsaber-centric game.

Why? I didn't really like the lightsaber combat of The Force Unleashed either but that doesn't mean that no lightsaber combat system could work.

I get the impression, especially if EA have anything to do with development of such a game, that it would just be reduced to a monotonous lightsaber porn button-masher.

Yeah, Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy barely got three styles to work well, with Jedi Academy actually doing a lot enhance things and add a few new mechanics, but with the Seven Forms and no other mechanics, that would be extremely challenging to pull off.

True, but I'd still take a failed attempt at lightsaber combat over another first person shooter. Anybody can do those and everybody has.

I still think 1313 is a missed opportunity.

I'd love a brand new X-Wing Star Wars but the latest generation of gamers would be lost without a quicktime event of some description.

That was why I was so disappointed by the choice of EA as the caretaker of Star Wars video games for the foreseeable future, because they aren't going to be willing to take risks, and not just do first person shooters and everything else that is in nowadays, and do something halfway innovative like return to space sims and real-time strategy. Battlefront is the most casual thing they could possible make, because first person shooters are among the only things AAA studios think can sell to the masses, which is also why TFA turned out the way it did. EA couldn't even continue the C&C franchise after apparently disappointing fans with C&C4 and killing Generals 2 when it looked promising, so I doubt we will see a Star Wars real-time strategy game anytime soon. I want some innovative things like Star Citizen, Homeworld, and Supreme Commander in the Star Wars universe, but that is apparently too much to ask for.

Wouldn't a smaller, less wealthy publisher be even more risk averse?

Remake/Reboot of Dark Forces. Same old FPS with Jedi tricks.

Starts off with Kyle Katarn being an ace Tie Fighter Pilot apart of a battle group under the command of Grand Admiral Thrawn. Game will start off as very much like the game Tie Fighter, then transition to a FPS, with occasional changes in gameplay that homage classic video games like Star Fox and Turok.

Game would also reestablish a lot of Zahns characters back into continuity.

I'd like an MMO set during the Clone Wars set on a galactic scale, play as a Jedi rise through the ranks fight on the front lines, or explore the Jedi Temple and meditate. You can create your character, fight and die.

Maybe even a DLC that lets you play as Clones, or droids on the front lines.

Plus another DLC set during the Sith War.
This would be less story oriented, and more action. You fight, fight, fight, plus interact with other players to secure a Republic victory, but the CIS would be intelligent striking back with large force.

Preferably on Xbox 1 cause I've never been able to figure out that Old Republic game on PC, I've tried getting it set up it just doesn't work. [face_dunno]
And periodically (Every year or two) a little surprise will pop up in which your clone troopers will shoot you in the back with no warning. [face_tee_hee] Teach some people why the Jedi are not all powerful. It would be used to set the game back to square one, everything would be reloaded back to how it was the day it came out with The CIS owning half the galaxy and the Republic owning the other half.

Might be to large to make but I can dream.
