Episode VII: Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, Lando, and Wedge are sitting in the retirement home eating prunes, drinking tea, and playing canasta "Shuffleboard is for the Imperial guys, we don't talk to them" Han says. A messenger droid shows up and informs Luke that R2 and 3PO are at their mandatory scrapping age and New Republic law says they are to be scrapped immediately. No exceptions, not even for heroes who saved the damned galaxy from unrelenting evil and oppression. Luke stands up to object but clutches his chest as Lando reminds him that his heart can't take too much. Leia insists the scrapping law is a bunch of baloney and she'll fight it as soon as she finishes her Metamucil. Chewie, who had his Centrum Silver that morning, stands up and walks off while muttering something to himself. The attendant droid thinks it may be his dementia but states that our favorite Wook could just be drunk. Wedge's only line is "I had jello today..."

Episode VIII: Chewbacca is seen slowly puttering along in some walkway on Coruscant. He saunters on into an official looking building, waits in line (this takes at least half of the film and the lobby aliens provide Hasbro with no less than 30 different aliens who will be shown on screen for all of 2 seconds and will have at least 5 different versions of action figures made of each, as per their contract). Meanwhile, Luke, Han, Leia, Wedge and Lando are still sitting in the retirement home yammering on about those damn kids today and their loud music. Lando goes on about how the music played by Max Rebo wasn't all that bad and it's a crying shame that kids these days can't appreciate the good stuff. Leia then says that she can never listen to Max Rebo's music after all that Jabba made her do. Lando says it wasn't that bad which then angers Leia even more and accuses Lando of being sexist. Meanwhile, a government worker cannot understand Chewie and their protocol driod is in for repairs so he'll just need to wait. The droids are captured and hauled off by a government agent to a sleazy Cash 4 Gold joint in the hopes that 3PO is worth something. Artoo realizes something's up and sends a message to Luke who gets it and tries to leave. As he stands up, he clutches his chest and sinks back into his wheelchair. Han, Lando and Leia all look on in shock while Wedge mumbles something about Janson who has been dead now for six years.

Episode IX: Luke, still clutching his chest pauses for a moment before passing some very LOUD gas. A look of relief passes over his face as he vows never to eat the beans and asparagus again. Luke then wheels his chair on over to the bus stop and follows Artoo's signal to the Cash 4 Gold shop. Along the way, Luke gets swept up in an Ugnaught revolt and is briefly held captive until he uses the Force to give the Ugnaughts his gas. The film then cuts back to Chewbacca who is STILL trapped in the government office trying to get the droids back. Another protocol droid is brought in and translates for him only to then discover that the droids who were meant to be scrapped were C-3DO and R2-E2. It turns out that the man who made the error is our old friend General Veers who lost his military pension after the collapse of the Empire and must now spend his golden years working as a government stooge. He talks to Chewie and admits that his hearing isn't what it used to be and also apologizes for destroying Echo Base. "I was only following orders, I was acquitted, what more do you want from me!?" he shouts. Chewbacca then mutters something about the droids and the interperter droid mentions this to Veers who then says that he did have his suspicion about an underling of his who was desperate for credits. The droids are about to be scrapped when Veers remembers that he fitted Artoo with a Clapper which will then automatically fire Artoo's rockets and drag Threepio along with him back to the office. Veers claps his hands and offers Chewie some mints while they wait. The door is then cut open by a lightsaber to reveal Luke who is mighty pissed about missing Jeopardy! for this. Just then, Artoo and Threepio come crashing in through the windows and Veers claps his hands again to shut off Artoo's rockets. Veers then apologizes to Luke for destroying Echo Base and killing Dack, says he was just following orders. Luke, Chewbacca, and the droids then take a taxi back to the retirement home where Leia is still chewing out Lando for being sexist while Han rambles on about his smuggling stories to a clearly uninterested nurse who is checking his blood pressure. The droids greet everyone with Tang and Metamucil except for Lando who needs an Alka Seltzer. Wedge says nothing and is just sitting there with a small puddle of drool forming on the tray clipped to his wheelchair.

All of this is supposed to be set in a time long ago, in a galaxy far, far away right? Well, then it is my belief that something catastophic occurred to this ultra advanced society because obviously, we are not that advanced today. So, that's why I think that the ultimate goal of these movies should be to build up to the event that ends that civilization and begins ours. Whether it be from all out war or something else. At least that's my two cents.

Well it's a galaxy far far away so the events of that galaxy don't necessarily have any bearing on events in our own.
Exactly... A Long Time Ago light left that Galaxy that is Far, Far Away and is just now reaching us.

What if a chosen few were selected for exportation and placed into some kind of hibernation pods that were launched aimlessly out of the galaxy and billions of years later they crash landed to earth. But, somehow when these descendants arrive they lack any memory of their origins and have to start over again caveman style.

    Star Wars - Episode VII
A diplomatic vessel is heading for a peace mission on some planet, maybe Ophuchi or Aquilae. The crew receives a S.O.S. transmission from a derelict ship. The captain, a young man, asks the head of the mission9 (we don't see his face) if they should proceed and investigate. C-3PO and R2-D2 are also on the bridge, with a female character (old) we only see from behind. Then they board the damaged ship. The captain of the diplomatic vessel is accompanied by another young man, who is a jedi, a couple of guards or soldiers and the head of mission, who is revealed to be Generl Han Solo, in his 70's. Suddenly, the small group is attacked by an alien race looking like the "greys" depicted in the frise from Palpatine's office in ROTS. Some aliens are killed, but also a republican guard. Then a shadowy figure materializes (from a cloudy ghost to a warrior in dark cloak) and light up is red lightsaber to jump towards the young captain, but General Solo interveins, and the young jedi accidently kills him while trying to react. The young captain cries "DAD! No..." The dark lord dematerializes to reappear in the cockpit of a small fighter that escapes the derelict ship. On board, the young jedi and the young captain try to assist General Solo but he dies in their arms. The young captain is clearly mad at the young jedi: "You killed our dad". On the bridge of the diplomatic vessel, the old female character is revealed to be Leia, as she learns that Han is dead at the hands of one of their sons.
Later, Leia contacts her brother, who is training jedis on Coruscant (or Tatooine). The rest of the story evolvesaround the two brothers (like the stoy of Abel and Cain in the Bible). With the help of their uncle Luke, they try to find the dark lord. The two brothers become obsessed. They stumble upon the dark lord and fight with him. The dark lord persuades the young captain that it's his brother' fault if their father is dead. The two brothers become ennemies. Luke helps the young jedi to bring his brother to reason. It is revealed that the dark lord is actually Darth Plagueis, Palpatine's former master. He somehow managed to survive. He lives as a ghost but can materialize.
The movie is about moral choices: when faced with dilemma, you must choose a path, a good or a bad one.

Episode VII - A Destiny Revealed
    Opening Crawl:
These are times of peace and prosperity in the galaxy. The courageous group of rebels who managed to defeat the evil Emperor have now build the foundations of a New Republic.
Once a leader of the Imperial Fleet, the cunning GRAND ADMIRAL THRAWN, has rallied all the remaining Imperial forces, willing to restore the Empire to its former glory and crush the fragile Republic.
Hundreds of ships were dispatched in search of the Grand Admiral, in a desperate attempt to prevent a new war from waging across the stars...

    First scene:
As the text slowly begins to dissolve, the camera PANS down and stops. The background is showing a blue shape of stellar dust. Suddenly, an IMPERIAL STAR DESTROYER exits hyperspace and heads towards us. After just a few seconds, a REPUBLIC BATTLESHIP exits hyperspace and starts pursuing the Star Destroyer. The two ships are relatively the same size, but the distance between them is big. The Republic Battleship opens fire.

    Rest of the story.
KYLE KATARN is aboard the ship and after the Captain identifies the Star Destroyer as the one Thrawn is commanding, he sends all ships in the hangar to attack - including one piloted by JAN ORS. She and Kyle have fought together a few years ago, during the Galactic Civil War.
Aboard his ship, THRAWN is calm and despite his Officer's requests he refuses to fire back and tells him to be patient. Once the Republic starfighters are in range, the Star Destroyer opens fire and decimates half of the squadron. Then, out of nowhere two CLOAKED Star Destroyers appear from behind the Republic Battleship and open fire, dealing crippling damage. After the Republic Battleship is destroyed, Jan and Kyle's fighter is the only one remaining. Through various maneuvers, Jan manages to avoid most of the incoming fire and heads towards a nearby planet.

Once in the atmosphere, the badly damaged ship is in no condition to fly, so Kyle and Jan equip jet packs and eject. Just as they touch the ground, their ship crashes into a nearby mountain and is destroyed. The two make a camp in a nearby cave, from where Kyle notices a small shuttle being launched from the Star Destroyer in orbit - the shuttle looks like it is heading towards the planet.
Next day Jan and Kyle head out in the direction of the shuttle, but the planet is dangerous. They are attacked by a group of beasts, but manage to climb up a hill to safety. Once in a canyon, they meet an Imperial Patrol Tank. There is nowhere to run. A rocket flies out of nowhere and destroys the tank. Their mysterious savior is an old BOTHAN, WARMAG, a soldier who was sent years ago on a mission to sabotage a secret Imperial facility on this planet, but since then his team was killed and he remained alone with a small hovering droid called T9. He offers them shelter and wants to help Kyle and Jan steal a shuttle, escape and report back to the Republic about Thrawn's secret base location.
Warmag also tells Kyle that Thrawn has been talking to some strange men dressed in long, dark robes and metal wearing metal helmets.
The next day, they manage to get inside the Imperial base. Jan is captured and taken off this planet to another one, Terrals, where Thrawn's men have been conducting mining operations. Kyle and Warmag steal a shuttle and manage to leave the planet with the ship intact. Since they want to avoid using the direct route to Terrals so that they won't be detected by the Empire they take the long route, through a space junk yard, where they are ambushed by pirates and captured. They are escorted to a large ship, hidden behind piles of floating debris. There they are met by a mysterious woman, MARA JADE who, after disarming them, takes the two to TALON KARRDE, the leader of the organization.
Talon has the intention of selling the two to make a profit, but Kyle tells him about Terrals and the mining operations, changing Talon's mind. The deal is that Kyle and Warmag help Talon steal everything the Empire has found out there and in return he will grant them their freedom and help them rescue Jan. It turns out that there is an ancient Jedi Temple on Terrals and the Empire has been searching for a specific artifact.

Talon, Mara, Kyle and Warmag all get aboard Talon's ship, the RAVEN'S CLAW and head to Terrals. Talon only takes 4 other men with him in order to keep a low profile. Once on the planet they split up and search for any information regarding the location of the temple.
After brief encounters with bounty hunters and a bar fight, they find out the coordinates and fly there the next day. The only problem is that it seems that the Empire knew they were coming and have stolen the Raven's Claw. Fortunately they find another transport method, by disguising themselves into workers and boarding a transport to the temple.
Once at the temple they get past the guards, but just before they reach the entrance, the alarm is sounded and the fight starts. They shoot their way into the temple, running from the guards, after eventually reaching a tunnel. Warmag seals it off with a grenade. The tunnel leads to a large room, with columns, where they see an artifact in the middle. Mara tries to touch it, but a bright flash of light makes her take a few steps back. Kyle tries and surprisingly manages to grab it and place it in a bag.
Next room is even larger and has the Raven's Claw docked inside.
There they are greeted by one of the men Warmag was talking about, but without his helmet. Turns out he knows Mara, who is very uneasy about this encounter. The soldiers bring Jan. The man, KAVIS, threatens to kill her if they don't hand him the artifact. He tells Kyle that only Light Side Force Wielders can get it and says that that's why Mara could not, that she has other hidden intentions - they should not trust her. Another fight starts, where Talon is shot in the shoulder, apparently getting killed. Mara and Kyle both draw their lightsabers and fight Kavis, but they seem to be no match for him. Time to run away. They all manage to board the Raven's Claw and escape.
Mara tells Kyle that Kavis was once one of the Emperor's "Red Guards" and that she herself served the Emperor a long time ago. Jan and Warmag disarm Mara and place her under observation until they reach their destination, Corellia, the new capital of the New Republic, where Kyle wants to talk to his master and friend, LUKE SKYWALKER.
On Terrals, Kavis tells one of his Generals to take some cloaked ships and follow the Raven's Claw (which has a tracking device on it) and recover the artifact at all costs.

On Corellia, Kyle introduces Mara to Luke and after a brief talk to his master, leaves at Luke's indications. Luke feels the anger slowly taking over Mara and she tells him that she will never forgive Luke for killing her former master. A fight between the two starts, just as the Imperial ships decloak above Coronet City. Even though the Republic ships outnumber the invaders, the Empire manages to destroy almost half the Republic forces while still on the ground. Those who manage to lift off engage the enemy in battle. The Empire even sends Stormtroopers equiped with jet packs to fight at ground level. From the Raven's Claw high above the city, Kyle jumps out on a nearby Jettrooper, kills him, then jumps to the one below, then again and again, until he reaches the ground. Lando Carlissian and Warmag are preparing the Republic forces for upcomming ground battle, by reinforcing their positions. The fight continues, while Mara and Luke continue to battle. Luke manages to disarm her, she falls a few meters and slams into the hard rock, breaking her leg. She begs Luke to kill her, that her life is over, that there is no reason to live, but Luke (after a moment's thought) offers to take Mara (who is now unconscious after the fall) to medbay.
Outside, Kyle and the others manage to repel the Jettroopers, while in the air, the Republic fleet reinforcements jump out of hyperspace and cut off the fleeing Imperial forces. Jan Ors pilots the Raven's Claw back to Coronet, along with the rest of the fleet.
The battle was now over, they won, but it cost them hundreds of lives and almost half of the mighty Coronet City lies now in ruins, because of the orbital bombardment.
Luke, Kyle, Jan, Warmag and Lando all gather and look to the starts, above the pillars of dark smoke rising from the buildings and ships.
It seems that peace didn't last for too long and apparently, after years of hiding, Thrawn has decided that it is time to strike. Whatever are his plans, he obviously isn't alone or weak. Even if they were now on the defending side, Luke admits that they are not prepared for another full-scale war...

*back story - would be mentioned in the opening crawl but not part of actual film*

Following the victory over Palpatine's Empire, it begins to become public knowledge that Luke is a Jedi and son to Darth Vader and is aiming to rebuild the Jedi Order. Luke has had no communication with the spirits of Anakin, Yoda or Obi-Wan since the events of ROTJ and feels a little lost without his mentors but is trying to do the best that he can to shape a new Jedi Order according to what he feels is right. A charismatic senator then begins to attack Leia politically and begins to gain political support against the idea of a rejuvenated Jedi Order. He warns of what happened with Dooku and Sidious and how the Jedi led a clone army in a war that transformed the Republic into an Empire. A New Republic army equipped with new advanced technology is razed to handle the mop up of pockets of Imperial Remnant resistance. Luke is forbidden from re-establishing the Jedi Order on Coruscant, though the Jedi are allowed to rebuild on an Mid Rim world. The Jedi are forbidden from involving themselves in political matters without the approval of the senate and Luke's relationship to Vader is used to discredit him and keep the Jedi socially and politically ostracized. Leia remains firmly in the senate and has not learned the ways of the Force as Luke had intended in ROTJ, but one of her children was allowed to become a Jedi at an older age (Luke allows for older students to be taken when they can consciously pledge themselves to the Jedi way of life, rather than be taken as infants).

During the events of the film, a covert strike hits Coruscant from an unknown enemy and razes the planet before a new threat from the Outer Rim begins to sweep through the galaxy toward the core worlds. The Republic senate has relocated from Coruscant, and the New Republic infrastructure begins to collapse as the Republic becomes fractured. The Jedi are kept on the sidelines by the senate that fears what their involvement could lead to after the events of The Clone War. As the threat closes in on Coruscant, the Jedi Order splits as Luke disobeys the senate and runs off to fight this new threat while other Jedi remain loyal to the Senate and stay out of the affair.

As these aliens from the Outer Rim finally take Coruscant, the New Republic forces are ordered to stand down with much of the Republic's technology being handed over to the new conquerors. The attack on Coruscant was facilitated by the senator who kept the Jedi sidelined in exchange for a bribe that he would be given the Chancellorship, though he is executed as a pawn instead. As Core worlds are pillaged and burning, the fractured forces of the New Republic flee into the Outer Rim as planetary governors struggle to maintain order and coordinate their efforts. Luke tries to return to his students only to find that the students that refused to follow Luke in defense of the Republic have joined with the enemy as partners (that will ultimately end up usurping authority).

Luke, with the help of those of his students that followed him - including his niece - must do what they can to rally the remaining free worlds of the Outer Rim and redeem the Jedi Order in the eyes of the Galaxy from the dark shadow that Anakin's legacy had left upon it. Luke is ultimately killed in a desperate attempt to travel deep into the heart of enemy territory and take on the alliance that his former students had made with the Outer Rim conquerors. The future of the Jedi Order is then left upon the granddaughter of Anakin Skywalker and those that students that question her ability to succeed where Luke had failed.

STAR WARS Episode VII: A new imperial threat rises, forcing a 35 year old Luke and co. to return as leaders of the New Republic, as generals, to face the gathering imperial threat under a new Grand Admiral. During these events, Luke will be cleaning R2-D2 after a major battle, and will stumble across a recording of Anakin Skywalker talking to Padme about her dying in childbirth in his dream, and Luke finally learns who his mother really was. The episode will should also feature Leia beginning her Jedi Training as the "first of the new.", and will focus on Leia's personal struggle with accepting that Darth Vader is her father, and her reluctance to become a Jedi, in fear that she may follow Vader's footsteps. This issue is exacerbated when the force ghost of Anakin Skywalker appears to Leia and begs for forgiveness.

I just don't see how they can do anything post ROTJ. It would totally destroy the story of the previous films. I think they have to go pre-phantom menace.

One thing which is obvious and I think some people are missing is...the Sith have been destroyed. I don't see how some random jedi is just going to run into a sith, there would need to be some teacher, some master. So unless there is another sith lurking around its hard to see where they'll go.

    BUT.....

I know when Star Wars was first imagined up by Lucas the main protagonist was female, so IF they did go go with a chronological 7, 8, 9 my bet is on a future descendant of Luke.

Was interesting to see Hamill;s comments to. Especially when he said Lucas told him "We're doing 7, 8, 9" which leeads me to think it will be chronological post ROTJ story.

    Confusing, exciting and other things......

Jar Jar and Wicket are having a picnic with Mungo Boabab on Kashyyk. The Hoojibs might also be involved. Then things get serious when Han meets up with Talon Karrde and Jaxxon for "one last caper" - that's the last we see of Han. We then cut to Luke giving a 30 minute lecture to his Padawans about the nature of the Force and Jedi/Sith History - a kind of Noh or Kabuki drama is staged to illustrate that stuff. Yoda, Obi, Qui Gon and Anakin appear as Force spirits to warn Luke about a rising Sith army. Luke heads out with his best students and battles Sith for 30 minutes or so. Things get completely esoteric and symbolic ala "Mortis", then we get a massively huge battle, end of movie ;)

Oh wait, we already got that with the PT & TCW! Sigh, I guess it's time for all those other fans to have a SW movie...

    Star Wars: Episode VII

    A Republic Divided

It has been decades since the fall of the GALACTIC EMPIRE. Unity and prosperity have been achieved under the guidance of PRESIDENT LUKE SKYWALKER.

However, disputes among greedy industrialists have threatened this peace and have pushed the New Republic to the brink of CIVIL WAR. Monopolies are sought and treachery is afoot.

In an effort to mediate a settlement, President Skywalker has dispatched his loyal attache', GENERAL SOLO to the ______ System. There, at a meeting of INDUSTRIAL LEADERS, a proposition to restructure commercial distribution is being debated...

Then, some sinister puppetmaster is obviously running the show (as always) and seeks to reinstate an industrial empire. Fighting commercial interests are factioning off, threatening the Republic's stability (a la Japan's Warring States) as each jockeys for supreme control. As more interests "go rogue", diplomacy fails. Funds dry up, Galactic unrest brews and Civil War threatens to erupt. Cue the three movies where Luke has to Abe Lincoln his way through this war. Throw in some nods to 20th/21st century corporate greed, scandals, and crashes and you have the trilogy. Ultimately, Luke must sacrifice himself for the greater good, which may or may not have been orchestrated by Bad Guy of the Series. A secret army of Jedi-in Training are revealed and Leia must decide if this is truly the noble way to proceed or if Luke has succumbed to the trappings of power.

Hi all, I'm new here but had to get this off my chest! Enjoy.

Star Wars Episode VII: The New Order

It is 20 years after the fall of the Sith and peace reigns. Mon Mothma (or Leia) has formed the New Republic, and Jedi Master Luke Skywalker has begun rebuilding the Jedi Order.

However a new threat is emerging. Admiral Thrawn has reorganised the IMPERIAL REMNANT, the fractured remains of the empire scattered across the Outer Rim, in an attempt to rule a fragile galaxy.

Along with trusted assassin Mara Jade, he has launched an assault on Kamino, hoping to clone a new army to destroy the fledgling Republic and quash the rebirth of the Jedi...

The opening scene is a modified Star Destroyer descending on Kamino. Thrawn is taking over Kamino having already taken a few tactical planets (e.g. Manaan), which had gone unnoticed because they were outside the New Republic. Again the Republic take little notice, but Luke, along with his small group of Jedi (comprised of newly discovered force-sensitives, aged Jedi who had been in hiding and ex-captives of Sidious), senses a disturbance in the force. He recommends that the teenage Solo Twins (One 'Dark' (D) and one 'Good' (G) (I don’t like the names Jaina and Jacen!)) investigate with the help of former Jedi Master Rahm Kota (or new Jedi).

However upon arrival their ship is caught by Thrawn’s tractor beam. On board they fight their way through Stormtroopers, but come into contact with Thrawn’s resurrected Imperial technology - Dark Troopers. Outmatched, they head for the escape pods. Having crash-landed on Kamino the Jedi are quickly overwhelmed. They are transported to the capital where they meet Mara Jade, Thrawn’s assassin sent to execute them. She brandishes a yellow lightsaber (i.e. she isn’t Sith, but force-sensitive/trained). Kota senses her conflict and distracts her, taking the lightsaber off her with the force before undoing the restraints of all three. The Solo’s escape and defeat the guards, taking back their lightsabers. Kota fends off Jade, but is too old and she thrusts the lightsaber into him. The Solo’s shout ‘NO!’ and escape. They steal an Imperial Shuttle, and depart just as Thrawn lands. (NOTE: This scenario could be used to ‘kill off’ an OT character, replacing Kota with Han, Chewbacca or even Luke).

The Solo’s return to Coruscant/Yavin IV to warn Luke/the Republic of the threat. The Republic discuss the situation, and agree to mobilise their forces, spread thin having defeated much of the remnant. They gather above Coruscant, including, Han and Chewie (If they’re alive), Wedge, Ackbar (who has designed new ships) and co.

Meanwhile Thrawn, expecting retaliation, opts to amass his entire force. Jade advises against this, specifically removing the quarantine of Mandalore, but Thrawn ignores her. (NOTE: The Emperor, knowing their tradition, quarantined Mandalore to prevent an uprising against the Empire. More later). The Republic manipulate Thrawn by allowing him to intercept a message saying Luke, who Thrawn sees as the key to defeating the Republic, has hidden on Tatooine (you need it in there!). Buying the message Thrawn recklessly sends his fleet to Tatooine, and lands infantry on the planet along with Jade. Republic forces arrive with the element of surprise and a battle ensues in space and on the surface. On the ground the Republic again come under fire from Dark Troopers. Jade tracks down Luke and they duel. Luke senses her conflict and persuades her to relinquish her dark feelings. Off-guard she is bested, but Luke, sensing the good in her and a bond between them, spares her and she joins his fight. Their input helps the Republic troopers overcome the remnant and win the ground battle. Meanwhile a boarding party including the Solo’s is sent to Thrawn’s flagship. The Jedi battle their way to Thrawn, who attempts to fight but is stopped by D. G attempts to reason with D (i.e. killing him is not the Jedi way). D says the mistake of the last Jedi Order was to think like that, and the new Jedi must adapt, so D kills Thrawn. Without leadership, the fleet is destroyed and the Empire is finally eradicated.

A celebration is held (like Episodes 1 and 4), the Solo’s are knighted and Jade becomes a Jedi and begins a relationship with Luke. With the Sith and Empire eradicated, the galaxy is jubilant. However at the celebration a new Mandalore hides in the shadows. After 40 years of persecution, with the Empire/Sith gone and the Republic/Jedi weak, the Mandalorians see the opportunity to relinquish their warrior ways and rule the galaxy. Their war, possibly alongside the criminal underworld who are equally prevalent in the EU but not in the films, forms the basis of Episodes VIII and IX. In Episode XIII D sides with the Mandalorians before a climactic battle against G. In Episode IX Luke redeems D, who kills Mandalore, before dying saving both Solo’s and ending the war. A Mandalore would be a ‘cool’ new protagonist, who, with their Darksaber, would be as good a swordsman as any Jedi and could legitimately defeat main characters without being Sith.

I always hated how comic books could never stay consistent. No major character has ever stayed dead permanently, no problem has ever been left completely fixed, and because of this it just kind of ruins the satisfaction of each of the next entries because you know this is true. Something else will happen. That's why I think the Sequel Trilogy should take an entirely new direction.

Star wars has always been about the people, and the decisions they make between each other. That's its main draw. I don't want this to go down the repetitive drain just like so many comic books and never ending franchises (like James Bond, for example) have. I don't want the force to inevitably cycle in and out of balance just for the sake of more movies. They can think of more than this. Star Wars is a big universe.

The most interesting way I have thought of to keep this intact is something akin to Gurren Lagann, or Mass Effect. Its a very, very awesome type of plot and has the potential to raise infinite moral questions about who we are and what we stand for. A threat infinitely powerful makes its way the galaxy and wishes to wipe out all biological life for the sake of saving the universe from eventually plunging into chaos. Remember, the force is still in tact. Everything Anakin and Luke has done is still significant and meaningful. But this time, the threat isn't even biological or native to the galaxy. The entire galaxy must fight together, and while working to get along must inevitably solve political problems and agreements, to eliminate this threat. This process is where the beauty of what makes star wars can really shine. Because you see, its not about the impending foreign threat Luke, or whoever the protagonist is must face, the trilogy must focus on how they fix it together.

What do you think? Its just an idea, of course it probably wont happen. But again I love this type of story line because it can raise so many questions and really blur the line between what is good and evil. It could really provide a nice shake up for the star wars franchise while still staying true to the source material. And keeping what everyone has done in the previous movies meaningful as well.

I don't agree with everything you say, but it makes sense. I also don't know anything about Gurren Lagann or Mass Effect.
What you said about comic books and consistency is an issue that needs to be figured out by the big guns because rectons are icky.

    WALT DISNEY PICTURES PRESENTS
    A PIXAR FILM
    STAR WARS
    EPISODE IX
    RETURN OF THE INVE$TMENT
It is a period of inertia in the galaxy. Shrinking PROFIT MARGINS and dwindling DIVIDENDS have led to desperate grabs for a larger piece of THE PIE. A weaker than expected fourth quarter earnings report leads to the resignation of the Supreme Chancellor and the appointment of a representative from the Intergalactic Banking Clan to act on behalf of the majority share holders. In a bold move to decrease operating expenses, the new Chancellor, who has promised to restore prosperity and fiscal responsibility to the galaxy, disbands the Senate and gives complete control of THE FRANCHISE to PIXAR ANIMATION STUDIOS.
With THE FRANCHISE in the capable hands of the animation juggernaut and critical and box office success all but guaranteed due to general approval from the spoon-fed citizenry, focus shifts to the CORPORATE SECTOR where the GALACTIC EMPIRE has secretly begun construction of a THEME PARK and pre-production plans for A NEW TRILOGY, more profitable than the first, are already underway...

    Hmm...

Well as any writer will tell you, the first act is all about introducing the characters and giving them some sort of victory, the second act is meant to be putting them in the worst situation they could possibly think of...and the last is getting them out of it. So if we're following the traditional sense of what Lucas did with the OT, then VII will be all about introducing the new characters and basically explaining who they are and want they want.

Lucas has said it's going to be philosophical - I would say that 40-50 years is enough time for a new generation, who didn't live through the horrors of the Imperial rule, to start to question the stoic nature of the Jedi Order. Have one of the most gifted students question the authority of the Council when he/she kills someone in cold blood for some reason (make it a definite choice rather than out of anger...a cold, calculating thirst for power). To make it really poignant, have that student be the offspring of Han and Leia (a girl I think)...which draws Luke out of hiding on Tattooine (where else?) after the new trilogies hero goes to look for him ("Help me, Master Skywalker, you're our only hope!"). A bit of a cameo by Han and Leia, asking Luke to bring their daughter back to them. Rebel student takes on the mantle of a Sith Lord, and tries to re-establish the Galactic Empire by using her followers to ambush the Correlian Shipyards. Luke and apprentice storm the capital ship which is leading the attack ("I have a bad feeling about this..."), where the Sith Lord and Luke duel, Luke dies/becomes Force Ghost. Sith takes new hero captive (they actually love each other, so she doesn't kill him), he escapes using the Force and ends up stealing a fighter. Massive battle in space, dogfights/chase through shipyard (hello 3D), ending in the destruction of the lone capital ship that everyone assumes is the only vessel the rebellious Jedi/Sith have by none other than Han Solo, who sacrifices himself so that his daughter can be captured/saved. Sith Lord ends up fleeing to Korriban or wherever. Ceremony to induct the new hero as a Jedi Knight in the Temple after he managed to help repel the attack. Ende.

Well I wrote a quick something for my scrolling text idea:

Star Wars Episode VII: The Empire's Legacy

"50 years after the death of Emperor Palpatine and the fall of the Empire, a new generation of Jedi battle against an uprising of Imperial forces stationed on planets across the galaxy. Supporters of the Empire are committing acts of terrorism and political sabotage which render the newly formed Republic unstable and vulnerable. The Jedi, along with forces loyal to the Republic, attempt to rid the galaxy of the criminal network which seeks to revive the Empire.

However, the line between good and evil is blurred, and our heroes must distinguish friend from foe as representatives within the Republic itself are easily manipulated and corrupted..."

It's just something I wrote down quickly last night. I'm not familiar with the EU so this might contradict the info there.

My sequel trilogy revolves around the idea that Palpatine had previously mastered the Eight Paths to Immortality, each of which he uses in attempts to conquer the galaxy once again and enact his revenge against the descendents of Luke, Han, and Leia. These means include…

1)Serial Longevity (his first body would have endure like Gollum’s had Vader not killed him)
    2)Disembodiment (becoming a Force-ghost)
    3)Possession
    4)Reanimation (zombie-Palpatine!)
    5)Cloning
    6)Reincarnation
    7)Resurrection
    8)The Eighth Path

The protagonists of the Sequel Trilogy would be…

1)Kane Skywalker – the newly knighted son of Luke Skywalker (the identity of his mother is not brought up in Episode VII)
2)Princess Solo of New Alderaan – The daughter of Han Solo and Queen Leia of New Alderaan, and homeworld for the refugees of the annihilated planet.
3)Deak Starkiller – The fiancé of Princess Solo and brother-in-arms to Kane Skywalker

Episode VII: Journal of the Whills
The action begins with Kane and Deak participating in a great battle on Had Abaddon. Victorious, they find in the aftermath a storehouse of Sidious’ Sith artifacts, including the Hidden Chapter of the Journal of the Whills, which details the Eightfold Path to Immortality. Kane informs his father Luke, who warns him that Palpatime had mastered every Dark Side technique, and therefore almost assuredly had studied the means to immortality.

The primary villain is Cos Da****, an affluent Coruscanti and Dark Side cultist who used his wealth to acquire the late Sidious’ lightsaber, the Kaiburr crystal in which contained a part of Palpatine’s spirit, allowing Da**** to become possessed. The ghost of Palpatine reveals to Da**** that the Dark Side preserved part of his corpse yet, somewhere amidst the belt of debris surrounding Endor. Having recovered such, Da**** is able to reanimate Palpatine’s corpse and an entire legion of undead Storm Troopers.

At the climax of the film, Kane and Deak defeat Da**** and zombie-Palpatine, with Kane destroying the Kaiburr crystal. As the ghost of Sidious is banished to the netherworld of Force, he taunts Kane that his father has not told him the truth of who he is.

The final scene is a dramatic reveal of the tank in which Da**** had been growing the clone Palpatine, now almost fully matured.

Episode VIII: Time of Greatest Despair
A second Clone Wars has broken out, led by the clone Palpatine (though he appears to be a much younger version), who is publically going as Son Hhat and claiming to be a true Jedi, unlike the “heretic” Luke Skywalker.

At the climax of the film, Kane and Hhat engage in an epic lightsaber duel wherein Hhat cuts of Kane’s arm. While the hero is down, Hhat reveals to him the truth about his lineage: Kane is the reincarnation of Palpatine. Luke had sought to create life by working in concert with the Midi-cloriens instead of by manipulation them, but in doing so had unintentionally opened the door to Sidious’ reincarnation. Kane, enraged at the truth, strike Hhat down and kills him. From his body however come the fully resurrected Palpatine, who tempts Kane to join him in the Dark Side as his destiny. Kane escapes, though heartbroken by the revelation, and is rescued by his cousin and Deak in the Falcon, which flees Coruscant as the planet falls to the Emperor’s forces once again.

Episode IX: The Son of Suns
Kane visits his dying father, who reveals that he was indeed created in a lab from inorganic protoplasm manipulated by the Midi-cloriens to form a single cell with a human genome similar though not identical to Luke’s own.

Another revelation comes when Kane discovers the meaning of The Eighth Path. The resurrected Palpatine becomes one with the Dark Side, and in fact is shown to be the Dark Side himself: it is his corrupt soul reaching across all of time and space and incorporating into itself all the evil of every other living being. Discovering this, Kane allows himself to be captured by the Emperor claiming that he must accept his destiny as Palpatine reincarnate and offers himself as the vessel of the Dark Side in its entirety. Upon witnessing his victory over the Skywalker line, the resurrected Emperor consents and performs the Eighth Path, his material body dissolving and his whole dark essence going within Kane.

At this moment a great host of spirits surrounds Kane, including Luke and Anakin. The voice of Palpatine become indignant at this, and at this moment Kane declares that the Emperor has failed: “I am a Jedi, like my father and grandfather before me.” He places lightsaber under his chin and ignites the blade through his brain.

Deak speaks at his funeral pyre saying that the Son of Suns had to thus rise so that the light of goodness could defeat the darkness of evil and bring a new morning to the galaxy. Kane spirit would always be there to guide any who would receive it along the right path, for he had become himself a new and perfect Midi-chlorien, by which all lining being could know the Light Side of the Focrce. With that, Deak demonstrates Force powers for the first time spread Kane’s ashes over New Alderaan.

    Hello there!

First time poster, long time lurker. Thought I was done here after ROTS but what great news last week!
This is the pitch I gave my SW hating fiancee last night.

    STAR WARS
    Episode VII: The Hidden Fortress

It is a time of relative peace for the galaxy
Imperial outposts exist, but the jedi are long
gone. The last of their kind, LUKE SKYWALKER
is in a self imposed exile, unable to come to terms
    with his father's evil actions.

Meanwhile, random pirate attacks on seemingly
innocent targets are causing concern to the
New Republic senate. Rumours of force sensitive
    individuals raise concerns higher

A small Correllian vehicle is dispatched to investigate.....

I kinda don't know where to go after this, initial thoughts were Han and Leia to be killed with the ubiquitous "I love you/Iknow" line, I kinda like the idea of the new gen trying to find this hidden force sensitive and at the end of ep 7 the dark jedi turns out to be Luke, hidden away in Jabba's old palace. Just my two cents, and I've enjoyed reading everyones posts on here this last week, what a diverse community we are!
