Looks like the biggest complaint they'll get is "no Soundwave?"

Not suprised by the omission of soundwave, they only way he could be in there would be as a giant MP3 player and that would be the suck! Boom Boxes and Cassette Players are dead.

Apparently they are going to run a contest to write one line of dialogue for Prime to say in the film.

Megatron was built by the original Decepticon Leader named Liege Maximo. Maximo disappeared. It was thought the Megatron destroyed him.

Megatron was the ultimate pactient master of evil. This Robot would single handedly start a war that would last seemingly forever. The meglomaniac of all time!

Megatron would gain support of Decepticons by offering them what they all wanted... power. They hand grown tired of the peice that the Autobots had forged. Megatrons ultimate goal... conquor the planet, and use the ancient drive engines and weapon systems (how which were the weapons and drives of the robot form of Primus, which he did not know) to rule or destroy the universe! He led the 'cons against small out lined tribes of robots (including the mini-cons) wiping them out and/or useing them for his own use. In short order he had taken control over 80 to 90 percent of the planet.

The Autobot leaders tried to stop him. The last Prime that Megatron killed was Sentinal Prime. The next foe he would face was a young leader called Optimus Prime. What he did not know was that he had faced this Prime before... and if it were not for Megatrons desructive nature, Optimus would not have been created (see Optimus Primes profile).

War Within: Megatrons form was that of a massivly armed tank.

G1: Megatron saw an opportunity to destroy optimus by following them durring a mission to save Cybertron from an asteroid feild. Megatron led the mission to board the Ark and kill prime. Unfortunatly for Megatron Optimus crashed the ship... putting megatron in stasis for 4 million years. When he awoke, he was altered to transform into a human sized hand gun (using molecular transformation tech). Megatron lost command for a short time to Shockwave... and then again to his most hated follower, Starscream. Megatron continued to battle for many years until defeated in 1999 by the Autobots. He and all the transformers were lost in a freak accident (no accident... it was caused by a terrorist leader who would re-program Megatron and the others). A terrorist leader would use Megatron as a crown prize to sell at the highest bidder. Megatron awoke... and was not happy. That was the closest he ever came to totaly destroying Earth, by infecting it with a virus that turned everything into metal.

In 2005 Megatron led the famous battle against Autobot City in Montanna. Megatron was nearly destroyed by Optimus Prime. HE was tossed into space by Starscream. It was then when Megatron started a very strange yoyo of a life. Unicron transformed Megatron into a much more insane robot named Galvatron. Galvatron Attempted to rule over Unicron by threating him with the Autobot matrix (that he took from Ultra magnus). He found that he could not open the Matrix. Galvatron was defeted by Rodimus Prime. Galvatron was found in a lava pit on a strange planet. He had grown even more insane. Galvatron was lost in a space bridge accident that he caused. Galvatron found himself waking up in the "dead Zone" on Cybertron. He was no longer Galvatron... he was Megatron again... more or less. he was able to get himself fixed up very quietly... he saw that Powermaster Optimus Prime and Scorpinox had taken the war on against one another. Megatron kidnaped Rathchet to have him rebuild a weapon to destroy both of the Transformer leaders. The weapon that he chose was Starscream... Ratchet rebuilt starscream into a pretender. Megatron also under when the Action master prosess. Instead of becoming a tank... this thim he drove a tank. It was then that Megatron met up with Galvatron from a different dimention. They fought to the death... kinda. Megatron lost. His stasis locked body was discovered and impounded by an anti terrorist organization governed by the US millitary... code named GI Joe. his body was liberated by a terrorist organization named cobra.

G2: Megatron was rebuilt into a tank. His goal... the Matrix. He knew that he coul

Autobots out numbered... OH NO! THEY ARE NOT THE ONES OUT NUMBERING... to me, that is the best thing. I was always frustrated with the Autobots outnumbering the Decepticons in EVERY SINGEL FORM OF THE TRANSFORMERS!

Robots in Disguise: Megatron is older than most think. His history goes far back to the Decepticon/Predicon conflict. At that time he was a very young robot with very little expereince. His name then was Megabolt. He never Megatron or many Decepticons. He was fairly unfavored by the tri-predicus council.

Armada: Megabolt saw that the Decepticons were back in power and the predicons were once again thrown to the back burner. Megabolt looked apon the Decepticons as a threat to his personal well-being. What concerned him more was that many predicons followed Megatron back to the Decepticon ranks. Megabolt sought out assistance. He would find two decepticons that hated Megatron... Bludgeion and Scourge. They would also inlist the aid of the thought to have been killed leader of the second generation transformers by the name of Jhiaxus. The four of them were now the Destructicons. The team was so unsuported that it went almost unnoticed by Megatron. Megabolts team was wiped out. Megabolt slinked back to the predicons. He stayed on as a low level enforcer. And hated by the Predicon high command.

Pre-Beast Wars: Over three hundred years after teh Original Megatron was destroyed Megabolt began to study the Decepticon Empire with great interest. He wanted to know how Megatron stayed in power for so long and how he lost. Megabolt wanted to make corrections to Megatrons plan and take on the role of ultimate ruler. However he was still just a low level enforcer with no support from the Tri-preducus council. He recruited a team (quite like Megatron did with the Decepticons) and came up with a plan. The issue was that he was NOT Megatron. He was NOT the pacient maniac... he was calmer... mabey scientificaly smarter... but not the ruler that Megatron was. Megabolt took a Predicon soldier called Dinobot into an old Autobot records archive to descover the secrets of Megatron, Optimus Prime, the Autobots and Decepticons (all from G1). It was then that he announced to Dinobot that he was no longer Megabolt. He took on the name that he had once hated... and now revered... MEGATRON! With the help of the scientist Predicon Tarantulas, and the theft of a Transwarp Predicon Ship (called the Darksyde) they set off to find a lost source of pure ENERGON... and to do it they would go back in time. There goal was the prehistoric planet Earth.

Beast Wars: The Darksyde was chased down by a science vessle maned by a young group of Maximals (the Decendances of the Autobots), led by Optimus Primal. The two ships shot eachother down and they crashed. (This part is theory) Megatron was the first Predicon to attempt to leave the crashed ship. He tried out Taruatulas's new beast form tech to prevent the high levels of Energon readiation from overloading there systems. Megatron walked out as an Crocodile. The system did not work. The second attempt did work. Megatron scaned the bones of a T-rex and presented himself to the world... but was it Earth. Dinobot said no. This planet had two moons... Earth has but one. Megatron did not care. The planet was rich with energon and would serve there purpos. Dinobot left the predicons to attempt to command the Maximals.

As Time in the Beast Wars moved on and Primal had become his true nemesis, Megatron became aware of a strange alien race that he would attempt to steel there technology. He would use it to win the Beast wars then use it to counqur Cybertron. He failed every attempt. At one point Megatron forged a peace treaty with Primal in an attempt to gain the alien power. Instead he assisted in trigering a disaster that nearly destroyed the planet. The aliens had been using the Beast Wars planet as an experiment... the experiment was to be terminated. One of the two moons had turned into a weapon. Now there was only one moon... they

Anybody seen the SAAB Ad and the Alltel one? The SAAB Jet transforms into an overpriced car and the other one a car turns into a phone.

 

Hey Rion. I saw a mock up of how he would transform. It is strange.. but the way it slides around... the windshild is still the chest and the gril is still the abbs. However... looking at Bumblebee (if that is his Earth form) all bets are off. Prime could look like anything!

Starscream is the ultimate trator. He is in a constant strugle to sieze control of the Decepticons from Megatron. Fearless in battle, but fearful in all other maters. He believes himself to be the most hansome and powerful of all Transformers.

War With. Starscream started life as a scientist. He and his friend Jetfire explored much of the surrounding sectors of Cybertron. After a time starscream was captured by a Decepticon gang and thrown into an arena for the pleasure of Megatron. It was then that Starscream found that he was much better suited for combat than science. He became the champion of the arena and began to enjoy the sport. He would defet such robots like Grimlock in the ring. Megatron saw that this transformers is a great warrior and should be used for more useful ventures. Starscream rised in the ranks and became Megatrons third in command (under Shockwave). He was also one of the transformers that arrived on Earth with Optimus and Megatron.

G1: Starscream would take the form of a F-15 jet. He would take any opportunity to seize control of the Decepticons from Megatron. A few times he did accomplish his task... only to have command stiped away from him. Starscream even re-built the combaticons in an attempt to beat Megatron. The only reason Megatron kept him around was that he was a great warrior and very good tactician. He always knew what to excpect from Starscream. In 2005 starscream made a move against the nearly destroyed megatron. He took control wearing a crown. Just as he took command Meagtron re-appeared as the insane Galvatron. Galvatronhad had enough of Starscream... and vaporized him! But he did not die. He would travel space as a ghost. Even though Starscream was not aware of it... he was then found to be immortal. He could not die! He tricked the ripped appart Unicron into giving him back his bocy. Starscream had gone and hid on Cybertron for about a year until Galvatron had been lost. He then joined a faction of Decepticons led by Rat Bat. At that time the Decepticons were split... Rat Bat and Scorpinok were the leaders. Rat Bat and Starscream began research into a cybertronina data wearhouse called the underbase. The Underbase contained ALL KNOWLEDGE. The underbase could give ultimate power... make a transformer into a God. Optimus Prime tried to explain to all that the underbase is a trap. The underbase would only deliver insanity... and death. Starscream started a minor Decepticon civil war in an attempt to destract the faction while he took the underbase. He only took a minute amount of the power from the base... and it made him into the most opwerful transformer that functioned. Starscream had gone insane. He tried to destory all the transformers. And he almost sucseeded. Only Transformers with organic parts could withstand to any degree. Starscream used this energy blast to nearly destroy them all. He then saw that Optimus was also trying to get to the underbase (only optimus wanted to destory it). Starscream met up with the base once again and took 100% of the base. He lasted a second or two... then exploded.

A year later Starscream was re-built by Megatron and Ratchet as a weapon against Optimus and Scorpinok. Ratchet re-builthim into a pretender. He had control of an outershell that looked like a 20 foot tall human. Ratchet... however... made sure that Starscreams original programing was still intacted. Later Starscream would loose his outershel. Starscream would later undergo the Action master prosess. Instead of transforming into a jet... he would drive a flying vehical that looked kinda like a jet.

G2: Starscream returned to his original G1 form. He had re-joined Megatron and there relationship... for the most part... returned to normal. Starscream attempted to join the Second generation transformers... it worked for a while. Starscream took over the Decepticon flag ship War World.. and with the M

HMMMMMMMM.

I have given the new look of the Transformers a lot of thought. I must say that I prefer the way they look in the toys and cartoons. But that is not to say that I do not like it. It is a very interesting new look to the aliean robots. Interesting. Kinda cool.

 

Seriously, that is the new direction they're are taking with the transformation? Man that is such over-engineering, super excessive. I agree with you phil, I like the classics; simple, mobile. Most engineers know, the more you have- the more can go wrong. Hell, they might as well do it beast wars transformation the way those pics look (in aboutasiths last post).

As a stand alone, its artsy, but as a transformer, gosh its super ugly.

 

We should just rent a theatre out at watch the cartoon movie instead!

 

Dont get me wrong guys.... I am still very much into the film. I very much want to see it.

However... I would like to do just that... rent a film in november and play the film. I say in November, because the film will be re-released on DVD. For the first time it will be presented in wide screan and it is very much cleaned up. I can not wait for that DVD.

 

Yeah, I want see the movie too, even if it sucks at least it's out there again and someone else can take a shot at it instead.

Fingers crossed it'll be good though.
