Star Wars without the Force

How would Star Wars's story have been different without the Force? I recently checked out this article, it's pretty interesting. http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?581173-StarWars-without-the-Force.

I think the same basic storyline could have been kept- the rise and fall of the Empire, but there would be no Jedi or Sith involved. Luke, Obi Wan, Vader, and Palpatine would all just be ordinary people, involved in a political struggle. Do you think Star Wars could still work, without the presence of the Force?

 

I don't know.

 

Moving to SWC from Saga

 

Han Solo would mentor Luke Skywalker in the mysterious ways of the Scoundrel.
Vader would probably have his strength augmented through his suit to physically break people's necks.
Palpatine would be too scared to show his face in public.
Obi-Wan would have probably been beaten to death by Tusken Raiders.

only people would leap for their lightsabers instead of force calling them

Vader would lob things at Luke

and mind tricks would be aggressive negotiations

 

It definitely would be less cool. What's the GFFA without the mystical energy field that binds the galaxy together? And allows Jedi mind tricks? C'mon, you all know you've tried to to that at least once.
