Just like our namesake, it looks like we're spreading our wings as well. In honor of the opening of the third franchise, I'll gladly answer the poll.

1.Who is your favorite OT character?
    Luke Skywalker, of course.

2.Who is your favorite EU character?
    Mara Jade

3.How's you get your screen name?
Well, I created a computer program that randomly took letters and syllables from each of the names of major characters of the entire Star Wars universe and combined them into a suitable screen name. When it spit out the name "Darth Cottage Cheese", I said "&^%$ it" and came up with Qui-Gon Tim.

4.Who is your favorite EU author?
Zahn, because he's the only one I've read. I just started "Truce at Bakura", and I have to say this: I'm just on page 40 or so and Kathy Tyers has my full, un-divided attention! It's getting good!!

5.What other series do you like?
Anne Rice's Vampire series, the Bloom County cartoon strips.

6.Do you like butter or margarin better?
(you know, there always has to be a truely enlightening question)
    Butter......it's like, well, butter.

7.Tell us a bit more about you.
Oh, where to begin? Five years of college: four as an un-happy pre-med major and one as a very happy interior design/art major (no degree-oh, well- life goes on). Studied operatic voice for five years (baritone). Happily (and luckily) married to Jedi Trace for nearly six years now. One daughter: Emma- age three (going-on-thirteen). Uncle Georgie had me from that very first commercial for Star Wars back in 1977.

8.Do you like your coffee black?
Ewwww, yuck- no! I like my sugar with a bit of coffee. Four or fives spoons of sugar per cup, plus about two spoons of creamer. (Anyone ever seen "The Fly"?)

Kathy T...I'll say it again: YOU ROCK!

Thanks for joining us in here.

As for the question that was asked earlier, "Which order did you read the EU?" I read them as they came out, starting with TZ way back when...

Kathy, last week I made a flight to the Adirondacks. (Mountains northwest of Albany, New York.) I visited several places in New York including Saratoga, Lake Placid, Saranac Lake. On the way home, I made a very quick visit to Burlington, Vermont. I also saw Lake Champlain on the way into Burlington. It was quite a trip and I'm busy flight planning another adventure. If I'm groundside, it's because I was reading your latest novels and I'm just beginning to re-read them.

How has your week been? I bet you're very busy answering questions for Balance Point. It's a real shame that TF.N didn't exist back when I was reading Truce at Bakura for the first time.

Shmi52 -- I was scraping the rocks in an airplane this time. And of course, you're always welcome to come along for a ride.

All aircraft are powered. It's just that some are powered by the forces of nature, and by the power of prayer.

That's my guess. I'd rather spend my time curled up with a good book tonight. Either that, or go out flying. BTW, the best place for a trench run is a narrow canyon near Flagstaff. It's cool to see the rocks whizzing by, on both sides of your cockpit.

Are you on duty tonight? I hope they're not wearing you out. They're a tough crowd to please.

Thanks. I'm on duty, but things have slowed down a bit. I think all the big questions have been asked by now.

    > BTW, the best place for a trench run is a narrow canyon near Flagstaff. It's cool to see the rocks whizzing by on both sides of your cockpit.

    That sounds spectacular!

We don't have to stay on topic here at Starbucks, do we? It's just that every time I see that thread "What the NJO Series Really Needs", the first thing that pops into my head is "Larry the Cucumber"! A buck-toothed, CG cuke singing "Oh, wherrrrrre is my hairbrush . . ."

Maybe I'm ready for a break? ;) But if you've never watched a VeggieTales video, the "silly songs" collections are a riot.

Kathy, I haven't seen VeggieTales. Maybe one of these days when I have more time. I was in such a rush today that I didn't notice the latest issue of "Soaring" magazine having my name in the badge column. My Jedi Knight just showed it to me when he came home from college a couple of minutes ago. There's a nice photo of Lake Tahoe on the front cover. The camera is mounted on the wing tip of a glider. There's an orange wing in the foreground, framing the picture. I wish we'd see this type of POV in Star Wars. It would be nice to see something like this done in the next movie.

Oh, I want to be one of the first to tell you that I absolutely love reading CROWN OF FIRE.

Getting back on topic, I plan to give copies of BALANCE POINT to my relatives as Christmas presents.
