Figures that Blizzard employees are ex-cons. They make the millions of WoW subscribers their *****es.

Not really. If it is Starcraft 2 I can be like "Yay!" but if it isn't then I can be like "Muahahahahaha, I laugh at your pain! You should've known there would never be a Starcraft 2!!"

So yeah, either way I win =D

Personally, I think that it'd make the most buisness sense to have Starcraft II, and then follow up with World of Starcraft, much like Warcraft III was followed up by World of Warcraft. Basically, a Starcraft II with an expected release date of Christmas 2007, with World of Starcraft coming May 2008.

Also, it's not financially sound at all to have two MMORPG's at once. They'd be hard to manage and they'd leach customers away from one another.

Two MMOs at once, definitely a bad idea long term. But WoW is nearing the end of its natural life cycle. I imagine that the goal would be to do another WoW expansion around Christmas, and to basically end WoW there. World of Starcraft would allow for a fresh wave of customers, it'd allow them to use a newer graphics engine, and for a little while at least, some people would be playing both.

World of Warcraft won't last forever. And rather than have it go mediocre and eventually to suck, having it end in most peoples minds on a high note and have World of Starcraft replace it as the go-to MMO leader.

Lost Vikings 3 would actually be something I'd accept in place of a SC2 announcement...

Also, Blizzard has recently crushed this rumor. The website that had originally hosted it has since retracted.

You wish it was that easy, Raven. Truth is your grandkids will still be playing WoW. You'll never escape!

Seriously though, I don't see WoW stopping for a long time. It's only getting bigger and bigger. I don't think it can be measured by any standards either. It's the fact that Warcraft has been around for such a long time and the belief that it will be around for years to come that makes people invest themselves in the game the way they do. It will probably collapse under it's own weight at some point and undoubtedly cease to be #1 as time goes by but it will have more than enough gas in the tank to keep the engine going for years and years to come.

    Starcraft 2 or nothing.
