Starfest 2011 - April 15th-17th

given this groups history over the past few years, I dont think we can handle anymore poisonings, blackouts or trips to the ER.......

There might, but I haven't gotten myself a new job yet since getting back. Need to be somewhat conservative with my spending until I do (unfortunately). This year will be my introductory experience. Next year I'll be able to do it better.

 

i've got two rooms reserved right now. but one will most definately be cancelled upon arrival

 

I am sure most of you are aware of this, however KathE asked me to share this with the group.

Hey, we have a few media opportunities that the Fan Force might want to participate in. We have Dan Daru coming in on Friday morning at 6:00AM and he will be doing interviews in between the news segments until 9:00AM. We also have a radio station that will be broadcasting live from the Main Events room during that same time and they will want to do interviews with people as well. We also have Chris Parente set up to have several people on his show at the KWGN studio at 9:30. Costumes for all are appreciated, of course.

Well, this is a bit of a wrench.

My nephew is having more reconstructive surgery on his arm, to further address the elbow dislocating problem. I've been seriously thinking of trying to fly back east to help my sister with everything during that time. The doctor finally called with a date for the surgery... and guess when it is? ... Wait for it ... Why, yes, of course it turns out to be April 15.

Talk a out a tough choice. To make it even harder to decide what to do, my sister says there are even odds that the doctor nigh change the surgery date at the last minute.

 

what about flying out after starfest.

 

The idea was to be there during the surgery, alas. But, maybe. I'll have to see.

 

Side note question:

I know at least one of you will, but a show of posts, who would make the trek over the Comicfest on Sunday that wouldn't otherwise, if I can get a Bronco signing for his charity there? I'm working on this right now.

Is this a draw, or the wrong venue/audience? I can't be the only comics fan who's also a Broncs fan.

 

If you could get a Bronco there, that would be awesome!!

I understand your dilemma and your commitment to your family. I think I speak for what's on many people's minds when I say that we hope you make it as we love seeing you, but we'll understand if you decide to be with your sister and nephew.
