Starfest 2011 - April 15th-17th

I LOVE IT!

 

I talked with KathE today, she told me that David Prowse (Darth Vader) is just about solid for next StarFest, as well as Michael Dorn (Worf). Although Bruce Campbell is being kind of stupid, he's trying to get in his contract that he can get paid for the convention even if he doesn't show up. Steve and KathE aren't up for that, but it looks like Bruce will come without that stupid payment thing, and will sign in Jan. Also they're trying to get Amanda Tapping (Stargate), they've been trying to get her for 5 years, and they think they might get her because Amanda's people are tried of being bugged by Steve and KathE....hehehe.

I have met Michael Dorn back when Starfest was at the DIA Holiday Inn. Careful, ladies...that man is a flirt!

 

I will make a human sacrifice to the gods if it will mean Bruce will be there. Any volunteers??

 

I will find someone if it finally brings in "The Chin". I've wanted to see him for years but he's always across the country.

 

Is there any interest in a group costume other than the ninjas for saturday night? I have heard rumors of a few others, but they arent my babies, so....but I am most willing to do Newt and Ripley if someone from Ptown who promised me some dvds will get them in the mail.

 

I would absolutely love it if Amanda Tapping came to Starfest!

Last year at Starfest someone talked to me briefly about doing a KOTOR costume group, but I haven't heard anything since then.

 

My twin and I have a costume planned. And if I can get to my goal weight I have another costume planned...

No real group costumes though besides Jana and I's.

 

..pretty sure I helped spawn that inebriated idea! I say we make that happen!

 

D'oh! Sounds like fun once it's done, but that would mean I'd have to think about finishing my Bastila costume. I'm no good at getting things finished.

 

While standing in line for HP7, we had a discussion about doing the princess bride...doesn't have to be a group thing.

Our friend Rebecca has a Buttercup dress already. Joe has dread pirate roberts. we had discussed with nick he would be Fezzik. no one has really done this and it is a beloved movie.

I was thinking up all the characters...

she loves dressing up in costumes...so i guess that works out nicely.

 

As you wish. All I need to do is find a SF safe sword. Imma look around a bit, but if anyone runs across a foam LARP-ish dread pirate-ey sword, please let me know.

 

Man, it's not even on my day weekend. WOW, oh well I will make it so, and my b-day will be 2 weeks long next year.

I will talk to Jeff & see if he wants to be the old people.
