I think I've conned (no pun intended) my friend into going with me, he's a big ST fan and I told him the guy that played Tripp was supposed to be there. Who else here is planning on going? Are we going to have a nice little RMFF meeting while we're there? also, could someone post that web site again? oohh, yeah, and one more thing. Is it easy to get tickets at the door, or should I go ahead and order them ahead of time? And are VIP tickets worth the extra cost?
I'll be going both on Saturday and Sunday. The website is Starland.com. As for getting tickets at the door I've never had a problem, but they do cost a little more than if you get them beforehand. I usually get mine at King Soopers the week before. I've never had VIP tickets so I don't know if they're worth the extra, the only thing that I know for sure that they do is get you a reserved seat in the first 5-10 rows of the main events room.
I'm thinking about going, but I just found out that it maybe the weekend of my Prom, and I can't miss that. You know being the only school event that I show up at all year round.
lol, well I'm definitely going. it will be my first sci-fi con ever, and I actually found a friend on base willing to go with me. I think on the site there was only like $2-3 difference between paying at the door or ordering ahead of time. But it might be easier to go ahead and get the tickets beforehand.
I fellow trooper friend is flying in that Friday to attend this Con. We will be there Friday and Saturday (all day) to REPRESENT.
I'll be driving up pretty much first thing in the morning and will not be returning until late. My girlfriend will be tagging along as well, but I think we can squeeze you in. Would you be able to make it my apartment? I live near Academy and Austin Bluffs.
give me a street address and I should be able to find it. I have a friend going with me, so do you have enough room for 2, or should I plan on driving up separate in that case?
In FP's hunk of junk ? There's tons of room in that thing! I'm still going to discuss it with my family, I may show up for just one day, but thats still tenative.
Billy Dee is listed as a guest and I only know of once when they listed a guest who then canceled at the last minute. So I expect he will be there and speaking on Sunday as advertised. DH, what do you want to know about the pricing? I'll try to answer anything other than why they hit you for an extra five bucks at the door('cause I don't know.)
i think i understand . it just seems silly to pay that much just to line jump to see wookie vomit . you know ,the guy from andromada
So don't go and see him, there's other things to do and see beyond the guest speakers. One of the things I like to see is the previews of most of the SciFi/Horror movies coming out in the next six months, they spend 90 minutes showing nothing but trailers for these.
THEY HAVE A GOOD VARITY OF BOOTHS . ONE GUY TOLD ME THAT MARK HAMEL GAVE HIM THE LIGHT SABER FROM EMPIRE . I DONT THINK SO .
Trip from Enterprise is gonna be there too, probably my favorite character on that show (okay, second favorite...) ;-)
I'm one of the security volunteers, I always have a great time, no matter how much I bitch. They have an incredible line up so far because it's their 25th anniversary. Billy Dee Williams - You know from where Marina Sirtis - Next Generation Connor Trinneer - Enterprise Tobey Maguire - Spiderman Anthony Michael Hall - The Dead zone Nichelle Nichols - Star Trek Dee Wallace Stone - E.T. Laura Bertram - Andromeda Brent Stait - Andromeda Teryl Rothery - Stargate SG-1 I'd love for us to have a get together at the con, i'll be there all weekend, if nothing else, i'd be happy to host a gathering of board members in my room.
They just added another guest, William Windom Mainly mentioning his single Star Trek appearance, he has almost 200 TV credits on IMDB. Great character actor. In fact he's on TBS right now in "Sommersby" They're up to 12 featured guest now.
