When were the first Y-Wing and X-Wing fighters first created?

Well the x-wing wing prototype goes all the way back to TPM times, and was known as the the E.A.S.(Experimental Academy Starfighter). -ep1 adventures.

It never says exactly, but the T-65B X-wing (the production Rebel models. A variant was the Imperial one never made) made it's operational debut 2-3 Before Yavin at the Battle of Turkana.

Y-wings are old fighters, older than the Rebellion itself. But it's new enough to have a Class 1 hyperdrive and shields, but be affordable enough for the Rebellion. I'd say it's safe enough to say it was rolled out 10-15 Before Yavin. It's original design was the BTL-A4 Y-wing (LP), a recon fighter.

The Y-wing came out around the time of Ep. 3. Much as I hate to refer to Barbara Hambly, Callista and her partner Geith used a 2-seater Y-wing to land on the Eye of Palpatine just after Palpatine declared himself Emperor. The A4 Longprobe recon version probably came sometime later.
