Seattle, WA Starting to come up with website content

Until our super busy volunteer webmaster is able to make us our awesome site, JediFarfy has offered to build one we can use for now, so we can at least have something to show people when they ask about us. I have some content written out, which I'll post and please tell me what you think.

Our 'By-Laws'
I really see no need to make these uber formal like other sites. Here are my ideas:

The Emerald Squadron is not affliated with Lucasfilm or any of its subsidaries. The group makes no profit and any money raised by themembers goes directly to the function of the club as a whole. The Emerald Squadron is for entertainment only.

Membership into and meeting attendance of Emerald Squadron is voluntary, and there is no cost to join. Anyone is free to join, without fear of discrimination based on age, sex, religion, race, physical handicap or sexual orientation. Membership is consituted as attending monthly meetings and having an active role in the club. Members are free to leave at any time. Children 14 and under are suggested to have an adult present. Watiching younger members is not the responsibility of the group.

Chapter Rep/President is an elected position. There is no no set length. The term of a CR is deteremined by interest and time of the person, as well as meeting the approval of the majority of members. If either item is present--time restraints or dispproval of the majority--an election can be called. A simple majority is needed to elect a new official.
All other positions are appointed, with approval of the group.

Emerald Squadron will maintain a safe atmosphere for all events and is not liable for any injuries or death as a result of club attendance, whether direct or indirect.

What should we put here? We should talk about what we do, why, explain our connection to the SSWS and stuff like that. I'd love some imput and help here.

Those bylaws sound more like a disclaimer We decided that bylaws were important for us just so when we did need rules, we'd know where to find them, also, they help us maintain appropriate conduct (not that it's ever a problem) during our meetings and events I can have a website up for you (bare basics) probably by sometime next week.

 

Oh, by "Bare basics" I mean at least an updatable news page. Good list by the way, keep it up!

Good point well, I'd take a look at ours, see if there's anything you want to steal a lot of ours was stolen from another FF's

Also, I think I failed to mention 'lack of interest' as a reason for a rep to need to be replaced. NOT THAT I AM HINTING ANYTHING, but I don't want to limit anyone's reasons for resigning from their posts.

Hey, do you think this has to be all formal sounding or can we make our laws in Yoda-speak commandment form?

Also since there are no complaints, I'll assume the by-laws are all ok and re-word them to sound well, not so ... 'disclaimer-esque.'

We also, as suggested before, need to take more pictures for our gallery so we can err... have one.

And, to add further, for the comic, we need profiles of your character/persona. If you don't pick soon, I will decide what you are in the comic.
Just a 'lightside Jedi' 'smuggler' stuff like that. If you don't want your life-story to be in my hands, please also come up with a few sentences on just WHY you are on Telos during the Mandalorian Wars.

We are making a comic for the website about us, and its set in Pre-Kotor Star Wars. We are at war with the Mandalorians. And you get to pick what side you are on, your affliation, all that. We are all stuck on Telos.

For example:
Me. [characer name here]
I am a devote lightside Jedi disalutioned with the Jedi's inactivity with the war between the republic and the mandalorians, so I left the enclave on Dantooine and am making my way to Coruscant to enlist in the aid of the republic army. But my transport ditches me on Telos, with my supplies and cash. So I am stuck. And so I have this moral dilema and also this desire to get off Telos and make my way to Coruscant some how.

Something like that. And by all means, feel free to join in.

 

Well that is even more info than I knew about the comic. I really don't know much EU stuff esp. stuff before the sagas.

 

I'll summit some artwork to maco_star. I use Manga/Anime style, American Comic book style, and Fusion (mix of the two).

 

I coulda SWORN I posted to this...

Anyways, if you don't want to come up with anything, I hope you trust me to create your 'character.'

I don't need all content RIGHT NOW. But any front (or other) graphics you wanted for the intial set-up and stuff would be great.
