ok, now that is just awesome!
Nice work, Maco -- as always
Hey guys, so who's actually paying for the upkeep of the Emerald Squadron website (as in hosting fees)? Is there something we can contribute some fundage towards?
It's all FREE. One of my friends is building the site and another friend owns his own server and will host it for free. Networking is fun!!!
All that cost anything was the domain registration.
And I love it Mike!
Kewlness More pizza money for everybody then!
More like more honey walnut prawns.
this was the first one...
this is the finished one...
yall tell me what you think...new logo?!?!?
I like the greens on 2!
second one does look much better (with the SSWS spread out a bit more)
I concur ... number 2 looks better -- green sun in the background adds interest, the text spacing is more readable.
Hey, meanwhile, in a similar act of shameless self-promotion, what do you think of these Meetup cards I designed for our other Star Wars group? I just color print them out at work on normal paper, slice them by hand, and hand them out to interesting people I run into.
p.s. Also, we've got some pix of our Star Wars Trivial Pursuit Night at this page:
Oooooh! I love LOVE the second one.
Just an update.
I officially sent the transfer request and am waiting to hear back on that. And Friday I am meeting with the person who is building the site. I am hoping it will all be up shortly.
We have been having major issues with getting the emeraldsquadron.com domain. I was thinking of grabbing the emeraldsquadron.org domain and just leave a link at the .com domain until things are sorted out. Then we'll have both and just 'link' them. What do you all think? If we decide to persue that, I'm going to wait until our KIND AND GENEROUS web designer creates our site before doing anything.
Imput? Or just do what I want?
I ran into a similar thing when I tried to register "www.seattlestarwars.com". It was taken.
So I chose "www.seattlestarwars.org" instead, and am quite happy with it. "Org" has less of a commercial implication anyway
www.emeraldsquadron.org would work just dandy -- go for it!
yeah, the reason .org was suggested instead of, say, .net is because, well frankly we are a organization ..imagine that hopefully we'll have both in them end. I'll check with Barbara on stuff tonight at our Sunday game.
