Didn't the monies mysteriously walk off?? I've heard a number of things about Parsec.

I am supportive of this idea though. And if, and I mean IF I had to bow to you evil, well with great reluctance ... I would ... but not THAT low!!! *LOL*

The monies disappeared when it was all handed to the new committee. I left the club after that and the group just 'faded' away, and no one really heard what happened to the money. If anyone knows, please do tell. We'd planned to donate it to Starlight Foundation, as the group was dying due to lack of interest. But the struggling new committee were determined to make it last and took it all. Never heard about it again.

Do Starwalking have a constitution or TOS that we can copy and paste here?

He he he nice try, kitten!

One 'president' type person, one Secretary and one Treasurer, several 'minions' but the top three make all the decisions, base on general concensus and opinions

I'm use to groups operating like this too. I'm cool with this.

Evil, I know where the money didnt go.....Where The out- going committee decided it would go, prior to the ridiculous farse of a "second attempt AGM" in July that saw a committee of people that didnt want to do the jobs rounded up into committee positions like cattle at a round up....

one of the great mysteries of the world if you ask me !

As you have a right to be. You guys worked hard to make the club profitable with a small & dwindling membership. Why they wanted to keep it open was a mystery, but the way they did it was unconstitutional.
They had no corum for a working comittee.
Who were the take over comittee ?

That must have been a sad day evil :( but I guess it's better to close it if it's not working for everyone, than keep it going, hey?

Not really. We all had a LOT of fun but was becoming too much hard work & too political. I stepped away for a while when Az was born but got back into it in a minor role. Rather see it closed than given away & bastardised !

I voted to close it as well, infact we had all but wrapped it up when Steve Altman came in (after walking out a year before) crying foul and wanted to flog the dead horse. We were sad to see it go, but it had turned into a baby sitting service. Mostly kids coming along and their parents leaving them for us to look after for up to 6 hours! We'd close the meetings to have a 13 year old say "Mums not picking me up till 6pm, and she's out all afternoon" and it would be like 4pm! So we'd have to sit there till 'mum' turned up. Won't be doing that again....I have my own kids to look after...

Must've been very sad, cos I've heard and seen some great things that happened during Parsec, that I wish I can be involved with ie raising for charity, hospital visits. Love all that stuff!

Leading up to the movie marathons that will hopefully happen, these things seem nicely timed, methinks.

But I'm thinking too far ahead ... STOP IT TODDI!!

That would have been so frustrating. I usually avoid official clubs of any kind, and I have only ever officially joined one group... though I recently let my membership lapse. Politics is tearing it apart as we speak :(

Loved the Hospital visit we did....made me cry, but more rewarding than anything I've done in a long time. Seeing an 18mth old hooked up to chemotherapy was a little heartbreaking. When the little girl asked for the 'princess' to visit her, I was honoured, but cried afterward at how frail she was... want to do that again.

AD, did you read the Borders thread? We had thought about putting together the gift voucher we got from Borders and raise some more money and see if we can do a hospital visit, but no one commented in the thread... I thought about starting a new one to grab everyone's attention.

Did you arrange to do the last hospital visit through the starlight foundation?
