FF:VIC State of the VicFF - Input Needed!

As this is being talked about in various places, I thought it might be a good thing to collect it all here.

The Issue Is: VicFF is in danger of being closed down.

Why?

- according to the 'rules' of Fan Force, you need at least 3-4 posting members and a Chapter Representative to keep the place open
- you also need 4(?) organised meet ups per year between members


We're not currently fulfilling those ideals. I don't know if we did before (I know of only 3 actual meets that I organised that were attended ), but I know we used to have a lot more posters.


Now, Adalia-Durron has taken over from HawkNC as our RSA and is at our disposal (within means) to work on this place.

But I gotta ask: do we really want to? What do we want out of this place anyway? I know there's a lot of history here, but what about the 'future'? Who is still hanging around here? Lurkers?


I expect rants about 'the children' and chopping wood. Dammit.

 

I am still here and have stuck ot out through thick and thin. Always keeping my chin and wit up. But where are the others? Even VADER_FF is absent.

I posted a few times here since I moved here from US a year ago, but havent posted anything in a while. I am still up for being part of this forum since Ive been with the site awhile.

I guess I fit into that "lurker" category.

 

Come on all you rock spider posters and make a return to the great VIC!

 

Jet-Eye and I are both Victorians, we post every so often, and despite spending time of the year in another part of Australia, still have our "home addresses" down in Vic, which I think more than qualifies us as Vics.

Mixo or Kla are both great choices for CR, either of them can organise meet ups quite easily, and if attendance requirements are that "someone turns up", I'm sure they'll fulfill this minimum easily. They'll probably just rope in Lute or some such to come along.

Or alternatively, if attendance need be more broad, we need only synchronise times for when the floating folk of VicFF are in Melbourne, where we can all go and have a drink and make it vaguely star wars themed. We'll keep to a quota of one han solo or obi-wan cantina scene reference per hour.

Do I count as an honorary Victorian ?? They accepted me a while back (which I truly appreciate !) & I barrack for North Melbourne.....

I also think Mixo would make an EXCELLENT CR !

It's actually kind of funny, three separate people told me I should delurk and get involved with FF, and so I am.

I think we'll fulfil the "3-4 active posters" requirement, so it's just the CR and meetups thing, yes?
