As a Steeler fan I am very happy with the design of the ring... Not that it matters anyway. The Hypocloid in the middle brings everything together. It's very similar to the 1970's rings.

It represents Pittsburghs Steel Industry. If you look at products here in the USA, (I don't know about outside the USA) that are made of metal, aerosol cans come to mind first, there is a Hypocloid on it. It just represents the Steel Industry. Hence, the Pittsburgh Steelers

Some pretty serious bling, there. How much does each one cost?

yea... they just keep getting uglier and uglier...

although, i do have to admit the DESIGN of it is better than most. the side especially.

    still way too gaudy though.

Since when did they resort to copying toy rings out of $0.25 prize machines? [face_plain]

The Steelers are going Traditional with their ring design. I was thinking about it, but got too lazy to post pictures, however, if you compair the Steelers most recent ring (Posted Above) to the 1974, 1975, 1979, 1980 rings you will see alot of similar qualities. The Steelers are a team built on solid tradition and I think this is their way of keeping that tradition strong.

Its gaudy, certainly, but I think most Super Bowl rings are, aren't they? Though I'll be the first to admit I never pay much attention to that.

I like the graphics of the design, and I like the gem settings. They are kind of gaudy, but you have to remember how big these men's fingers are for the rings to even fit.

If I'd change anything, I'd have made it with white gold.

well, for one i'd say that the colts was actually worse honestly...

but this one's still pretty mehtastically gaudy to me. but then i have yet to see any that aren't, traditional or no.

Here is a link to all of the SuperBowl Rings excluding SuperBowl 43, which is posted above.

Just though I'd post this. Be mindful that alot of the pictures look dull, I assure you that the rings are not.

So, in short, the early 80s mark the transition from 'decent' to 'gaudy' and the mid-90s to 'really gaudy' :p

oh i agree with you whole heartedly on that one. but the giant's seem's to have a better aesthetic to it. despite the number of diamonds it's not overly flashy unlike most of the others.

and i can't really agree on the bronco's two. the second one is ok but the first one? it is ugly. that's just me.

No, it's too large. The 1991 Washington one isn't bad.
