I have plenty of maps. Not of Takodana, but I have maps. But it doesn't take a Phd to realise that a shot from the middle of the forest would need to dodge lots of trees, rubble and people to hit Steve. Even if we assume that there is a straight line from where Rey is standing to the fight in the ruins and that the Finn VS Steve fight doesn't take place on a platform above ground level.

 

She is in the middle of the forest?

yes, Steve was truly a highlight of this film. "You! Traitor!" That was simply epic. I wonder if Steve knew Finn personally. I'm glad he at least got his 2 words in.

 

Steve was pretty much the most effective Stormtrooper ever.

I kinda wonder why they didn't just put Phasma into this role?

Wouldn't it have made more sense dramatically, especially since the characters yells at Finn for being a traitor. And it would've given Phasma something to do other than walk down a hallway, lol.

You got this bad ass looking character in silver armor ... why use a generic stormtrooper instead? I think that was kind of a missed opportunity.

 

It would have made a lot more sense dramatically to have Phasma face down Finn. "Steve" only seemed to prove a point that Finn was pretty weak and would be exposed as a sanitation worker later on and for that not to be a shock.
