LetoQuorme has a by week this week, sorry buddy. After that there will be no by weeks. Just had an odd number this round. If someone drops out in the first round, Leto will take his/her place.

Please contact your partner ASAP to arrange a game time. You have until 9/29 to play this round. Other rounds will only last about a week, with a couple days in between each round for stragglers. I gave a couple extra days this time so everyone gets a change to contact eachother and if there needs to be player changes we have time for it.

If you do NOT hear from your partner by September 23rd, please contact me and I will help find him/her or get you antoher partner.


How to do an online game:
Starting/Playing an internet game is easy. You just click on the multi-player option on the main screen. If you host the game be sure you have "Internet TCP/IP connection for DirectPlay" highlights and then just click create game. You set all the standards for the game. You also will need to find your IP address to give the other player. Just click the little box on the middle bottom of the screen that says IP.

If you aren't hosting (and if you're in dial-up I suggest not hosting) just get the IP addy from the other player and on the multiplayer screen click "Join Game" and put in the IP address. Be sure to keep the dots in the address, they are important.

For the winner yeah. I won't revel it's design totally yet, but it should be familiar. What can I say, I'm really into this contest.

 

My computer apparently got a new virus Monday and the school shut off my connection. So I don't know when I'll be able to play. They should have it fixed by Wednesday at the latest. Or I'm going to yell at them mightily.

 

Okay, TIEPilot051999 and I need a little help. We tried starting a game, and nothing shows up on the "Show Games" list. Here are some of the particulars:

• I have a cable modem, Alexander has DSL. Shouldn't be a connection speed problem.


• Both of us are able to communicate via Yahoo IM


• I tried turning off my firewall. Alexander doesn't have one.


• Each of us tried hosting, and neither could get the other's game to show up on the "Show Games" list.


• I bought my SW: GB and Clone Campaigns disks separately as they came out. I downloaded the CC version 1.1 patch. Alexander bought the Saga version. Each of us shows "CD 1.1" next to our names on the multiplayer screen.


• Both of us are using Windows. No Macs.

Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone want to try starting a game with one or the other of us and see if we can isolate the problem to one computer?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just popping in to say hi and good luck all. I haven't played this game in a long time, just reinstalled it, so I probably am a bit rusty :/ Anyhow, hope to compete soon, gotta stop playing that new Star Wars: Battlefront first...

Get off the Battlrfrons Reborn Jedi, GB is way better! I have a feeling we're going to lose a lot of people to that game.

 

With broadband if you have a router I don't know if you will be able to host. Routers are set up to take one ip address coming into your house, and assign ip's to any number of computers behind the router. Even if you only have one computer, the ip address you see isn't going to be the one the internet sees. I don't know of anyway to bypass that, short of what voija said about finding a third host.

Edit: I don't know what kind of firewall you are talking about, but since you said you turned it off I am assuming you meant a software style of firewall. About the only way to turn off the router is to bypass it all together.

 

Any feedback on games yet? I'm anxious to hear how they are going.

Any of those connection problems been resolved yet?
