I think we can scluplt a decent helmet and it shouldn't cost too much more. And you're right. That $300 was just for the plastic bits. No body suit, but I bet Dajuan with all her sewing goodness could probably make us all some.

Ok, well throughout the day I have been emailing back and forth with a guy selling some stuff on ebay, he said a bulk order discount could be worked out of some sort, if I can get a good number of people, it will probably lower it more. Its a full suit including helmet, and at $300 plus quite a bit of labor if we can get it down enough, I would rather just pay for it.

AH! Sorry, I didn't notice this thread when I posted about the armor the first time. I'm in for the armor as well.

Did he say how much YIMG? And, I'm assuming, this is the kind you still have to modify to fit your own frame and put the helmet together.

I, like you, think this is the way to go.

I've also got a friend here in Springfield that's interested in getting a set. So the current list is:

    John (Yoda is My God)
    Randy (Dajuan's boy toy)
    Dajuan (Jedi_Dajuan)
    Jon (VoijaRisa)
    Bob (Miracle Mets)
    Steve (My friend)
    Tim (Darth Shoey)?

YMIG: See how much your contact would want for 6-7 sets of armor, undetailed. If it can beat the cost of us making it, then I'm definately in for ordering it too.

I what, third the notion of buying them pretty much pre-made. Give me more time for slave Leia, and other projects.

EDIT: Ok, the best this guy can go for the plastic is $600

Man, I am glad dajuan is an RSA now, lessens the chances of me being banned for talking about this.

Let me see if I can get in contact with a guy I spoke with in the past. If I'm remembering correctly, he had them for $500.

Maybe I can get him down some from that price. We looking at 7?

    7 sounds right.

Oh, and tell him we'll be his bestest friend ever, and if he wants to stop by sometime, we'll all take him to a bar and buy him a round.

Shoot, between the 7 of us, he'll never have to pay. Ever.

Does anyone know someone who makes jedi belts and lightsabers in our area or a good website of someone who does?

Basically you're speaking to the only costumers I know in our area. VoijaRisa can make hardware lightsabers, but I don't know if he has the time for it right now. As for belts, my leather work is so so at best. So you probably don't want me to do it. Plus I have a couple huge projects on my plate right now anyway (slave Leia, Han Solo, statsics, school etc).

    Sorry man.

Thats cool. I have another question for you. Can you make a Kit Fisto jedi costume meaning pants, tunic and sash? I was going to have my mother-in-law do it. She's a good seamtress but has never done a jedi costume before. What would be the round about price of a costume like this?

VoijaRisa do you have any lightsabers around or can you make a Kit Fisto lightsaber for me. Let me know. If you can't make a Kit Fisto then just a basic lightsaber will do.

    Hi there,
I located two sites that might help you build your own lightsaber. My husband is making me mine for christmas.
    http://www.wilcoxusa.net/saber/parts.htm
This lightsaber seems complicated to make and my husband is having a hard time finding all the pieces recomended. You may also want to try
    http://www.padawansguide.com/lightsabers.shtml
this is an all around helpful site and the saber looks eaiser to make.
I have been attempting to make my own jedi costume. It was recomended to make the undertunic sleves extra long so you can scrunch them up.(like obi wan) So now I have an undertunic that looks like a jedi straight jacket.

The materials would probably be around $50-100 in all seriousness. I could do it, but don't know of the time aspect yet. I now have 2 stats projects on top of everything else.

I'm working on a guy right now. He has the armor kits for $580 (this includes U.S. shipping. If we buy it least three sets, he'll knock off $25 off per suit. He also sells some accessories -

    Neck rings: $40
    Leather palmed gloves: $30
    Shoulder pauldrons: $40
    Shoulder ammo pouches: $50

I'm still working him, but let's face it, this is definitely a niche market.

Dajuan and I discussed another way of keeping the price of building one down: Either sculpt the pieces directly onto the person, or to buy a mannequin (which Dajuan wants anyway for her costumes). This would prevent us from having to spend so much money on building a body cast.
