I really wish I had Photoshop. Making that banner would be so much easier...

    Rotoscoping is COOL!!!!!

Try doing 30,000 frames for a fan film and then see how cool it is.

You know, I've wondered if you had to do that each time for each frame in a fan film. That must get real tiring.

Yup. Each frame takes about 3-5 seconds to rotoscope. And there's 30 frames per second.

    Good grief!

I was thinking at one point(Lots of ideas going about my head) that I would do a fanfilm with no lightsabers, but use Adumari Blastswords. ;) Saves time.

Or you know... you could do something with the Rebels... or smugglers... or other various guys that don't use lightsabers.

That's why I need to get Premiere 6.5 or higher. Much easier to bounce back and forth to Photoshop than 6.0....

honestly, I have never seen good lightsaber rotoscoping come out of Photoshop.

to do it good, you've got to have a video effects program.
I really want to try them in Motion. I just don't have access to a computer that can run it.

I guess I could, and not do anything with the knowledge I have about stage combat stuff, the thing I enjoy the most. ;)

My buddy Shawn. It was for the costume contest. The feet are my favorite part! (Although I had to march through the Convention Center in my socks....)

The feet were sculpted in clay, then a plaster mold made, then made with liquid latex. The head was the coolest. He took a helmet and built a cardboard fram in the general shape of the head. Then he used the spray foam insulation that expands and ends up kinda like styrofoam. He hand-carved the details from that. Then he airbrushed it. He made his brother's (He was in the contest with me) out of foam latex that you have to bake. Interesting to watch!

It really, really, really, really SUCKED to wear, but since I had to keep my head down to keep the ithorian head level, I was forced to stare at slave leia's backside the whole contest......
