You people can combine your various thoughts into like 5 threads...

    - One on Jimmy
    - One on Kyp
    - One on Mara
    - One on your SbS reviews and thoughts
    - One on any important subjects that happen in the book and continuity concerns.

If this was PSA, all of these threads would be closed. This is cluttering the Literature forum and I'm getting tired of it.

    I heartily concur.

I've used up all my fingers and toes trying to count all the Jimmy threads... he's dead, not coming back, get over it....

There are 16 SbS and SbS-related threads.

11 of which should be locked.

What's the deal here? In PSA, we direct people to like 6 relevant and official threads and close all others. Newbies who come in and want their attention with a new thread get it closed as they're directed to the correct one to use.

3 more threads have started since I posted this.

I agree completely, it seems a new Star by Star thread is popping up every day. Are you still at 4 idiots and counting?

I think part of the problem might be is people might have their preferences set to 10 or 15 lines of threads and thus don't see current threads 2 or more pages back. I set mine to 50 so I get the maximum spread of threads visible and I can scroll down to the ones I want. I also think it's part laziness on behealf of many users and they don't go back a few pages, and I think some people want to be the first to post something new.

Yes, I set my page to 50 threads as well. It helps a lot.

I haven't read many more things on Jimmy in the various threads, because the spoilers I saw had absolutely no spoiler warnings and people would blabber in the wrong threads.

And thank you DL, for noticing this.

    uppers, cause I agree.

Between books, it's months of nothingness.

After a book comes out, it's a month of redundant threads about the same damn thing.

As I write this there are at least 2 active threads about how to "Bring Jimmy Back".

    Blah.

I agree. Why now? There have been NJO books out before, but why all of the threads? It is annoying.

There have been NJO books out before, but why all of the threads?

this happens every single time a book comes out. SbS's release is even more chaotic because of the material presented in it. the only thing to do is wait it out...take a break from lit, it'll calm down soon enough.

Oh come on, this thing is almost a tradition!

    Every year it happens...

2 years ago it was VP threads, then it was BP, next year it'll be DR threads.

Relax and go with the flow, DL'll kill any thread if necessary but most are not that bad, thogh I can think of a few, created by those members that briefly appear and then vanish...

I couldn't DISAGREE more. We've waited a long time, if you don't want to talk sbs, start another thread about something you do care about. Don't rain on other's parade. Redundant? So what? If the threads are getting hits, apparently some people find them interesting. If you get bent out of shape because of "clutter," then you really need to reevaluate why you are a fan. This resurgence in board activity is great and way more interesting than eu/canon debates and questions about jag and fett.

Too many threads is what makes it redundant. Take a look in PSA and see how well they disentigrate and mop up any threads straying too far off-course.

(feeling stupid) Whats PSA? I agree though that there are way too many threads that have to deal with Sbs. Wasn't there an agreement that we would stick mainly to the "Official" thread?

It could be much worse. There could be 10 threads about canon.

I DON'T read them. But wading through them to get to the threads I like, and getting better ones pushed down the page, is where the redundency comes into play.

It's just something that's going to happen as the result of a new HC being released, especially with the **** that happens in this one. It sucks, but we just have to deal.

I disagree also. Jimmy's death (and some other events I wont mention) is the biggest thing to happen in the NJO series yet and SbS happens to be the longest and most anticipated book in the series yet. Give use a break! What would you rather talk about Sturm? Between books this place is empty. PSA this, PSA that. If you are tired of redundent threads go back to PSA.
