Storm over Ryloth question..

When the Republic cruiser has its bridge crashed by a vulture droid, why is it that the damage is minimal?

Possibly a few clone operators were injured, and Wullf Yularen getting his head bumped. But the bridge was all and all in tact.


How the heck did this happen, when an A-Wing from ROTJ destroyed the Bridge of a Super Star destroyer by the same methods?

Were shields of star ships during the clone wars, simply better?

 

The Executor had its bridge shields down at the moment of impact. For all we know, the Venator's bridge still had some shield protection at the moment the Droid Starfighter came crashing, so the impact was lessened.

 

The Executor also had a second command center where they could control the ship. It's just that it was either unmanned or the people in it didn't get control of the ship before it listed and crashed into the death star.

 

Yeah, but the impacted bridge was still in tact.

 

On this subject, in Rising Malevolence I noticed that even with the shields off-line a whole engine and the back quarter of a blown up Star Destroyer crashes into the bridge of another and all it does is make a clone feel he needs to scream and shield his eyes. Hmmm...

 

You wouldn't want a star destroyer in your eye. That would smart a little.
