The Two-Onebee arugment interjected a needed bit of humor.

"What is going on here?" Before Anakin could answer, she continued, "Because it seems to me that a grown man who has been a part of a great many wars, battles and aftermath is behaving like a grown child. Instead of allowing himself to be treated for a wound received in battle, he is acting like a petulant little boy. Do I have the picture pretty clear?" Good for you, Leia! [face_laugh]

Anakin thought for a moment, then slowly said, "Obi-Wan had a friend who was a Jedi Healer. As his padawan, we saw her quite often and she would talk to him of various techniques the Force could be used for. I?have never tried them, but perhaps together we could try something."
Luke sat down beside his father. Teach me.
    Yes! He's finally doing something.

Obi-Wan glared at his mentor. Qui-Gon, I never believed that. I still fail to see how plunging the galaxy into darkness and murdering countless innocents, exterminating the Jedi Order, could bring about the completion of the Chosen One's destiny. See, I mostly agree with Qui-Gon.

If this does not succeed, what then? Exactly...

    Wonderful update!

Obi-wan needs to be a little more optimistic. Atleast Anakin and Luke are trying and even though It may not seem like much it's better than nothing at all.

    Chapter Thirteen

The group gathered around Luke's bacta tank held their breath collectively. For nearly a week now, Luke had floated in the tank. The droids still insisted that the body was dead, but they no longer tried to keep from giving Luke all the care they would have an alive being. As the droids had worked on Luke's physical wounds from the outside, Luke's spirit and Anakin had tirelessly worked on the inside?clearing the poison, forcing it out small inch by small inch.

Leia was only just beginning to understand the basics of the Force. Frustrated, all she could do was watch and try to sense what her brother and father were doing. Actually, it was rather amazing what the Force could do! This was one aspect of that mystical presence that she had never heard about.

The Jedi kept their secrets well?and her father had made sure the secrets would be kept for all time.

Leia shook off the bleak thought and focused again on the Two-Onebe droids as they carefully extracted Luke's body from the bacta tank. She glanced at her father as the droids wiped Luke down and laid him on a soft medical bed where they began to monitor his vitals. Anakin watched all with his eyes, but otherwise did not move. Since he had been able to talk to Luke directly, he had calmed considerably and been much more pleasant to talk to.

"When will we know something?" Wedge finally burst out.

A droid looked dispassionately at him. "The contamination of the poison into the body ran deep, sir. It will take a moment to scan. Please wait."

Wedge sighed, sounding like Leia felt. The whole room was silent as everyone waited to hear Luke's prognosis. No one had to be told that if the Jedi had not been able to clear enough poison out of Luke's body, then there would be nothing else they could do except watch Luke become fully spirit.

Tenseness filled the room, almost tangible enough for Leia to reach out and touch. Bodies shifted restlessly?at least the humans did. Admiral Ackbar did not exhibit stress in the same manner as humans, but Leia did notice a slightly stronger fish-like smell in the room; the admiral was just as tense as the humans were.

    Finally, there came a diagnosis.

"It appears that the majority of the poison has been removed from the body's system," the Two-Onebe declared. "It is enough that this body should repair itself?if it were alive."

Leia ignored the last words as elation flowed over her.

Luke and Anakin had done it!

She turned to beam at her father?and stopped.

Anakin was not paying attention now to the droids at all. He was frowning at something, his brow furrowed in concentration.

"What?" she asked sharply, cutting off the sounds of congratulations filling the medical bay. "What is it?"

Anakin straightened his posture and gave her a quick and meaningful look. "Kun," was all he said as he sprinted out of the room.

Not when they were so close to helping Luke return!

Leia took off after her father, barely noticing that Wedge, Mon Mothma, Admiral Ackbar, General Nadine and Tycho Celchu?the Y-wing pilot who survived?followed as well. She almost could not keep up with her father's swift strides as he raced toward the large chamber where all of this had started.

When she cleared the entryway, she stopped short in alarm. Quite clearly in front of her she could see two nearly-solid forms. One she knew as her brother and the other had to be none other than a very angry Exar Kun.

    "Let him go, Kun!"

Leia was at first confused by her father's shout, then as she edged closer she could see that Luke seemed to be struggling mightily against some unseen force. His arms were pressed against his sides and his spectral face was white, sweat pouring down his face in his efforts.

Kun hissed and laughed at Anakin. In her mind she could hear an oily voice respond, I told you that I would have him, one way or the other. You think you outsmarted me, but if his spirit is in torment not even saving his body will bring him back to you

A/N: Okay I did it backwards this time, but I thought some of you might want to know what is going on with me. Writing is hard right now because of the following:

Last Friday-a week ago-I saw the rheumatoid arthritis specialist. He didn't think, after examining me, having me bend and listening to my joint complaints (which all stem from injuries of one fashion or another) that I have rheumatoid arthritis, but wanted to do more extensive blood work to find out why my blood test showed a positive rh factor. More blood was pulled and an appt was made for Sept. I was told, about the blood work, "no news is good news", smiled at, and sent on my way. I felt good.

I should have had a C-3PO going "I have a bad feeling about this"...

Monday I came home from work and had a message on my phone: It was from Dr.Rassaq, my rh specialist, and he wanted me to come in FRIDAY. I called his nurse, Paul, on Tuesday and asked if it was terribly important as I have clients to see...and Paul said: "I can't tell you over the phone. I'm looking at your blood work now and all I can say is that your results are abnormal and it's VERY important you come in on Friday." Frightened out of my mind now, I agreed to come.

Thursday, I had my 16-week check up with Dr. Moss, my OBGYN. When I asked her what this was about, she didn't even know. She wasn't even aware that I was going back the next day! Her notes said Sept, my original appt date. So now she became concerned.

Friday, yesterday... Add "freak out" to my mental state when I barely sit down in the waiting room before Paul comes and gets me. Not only that, but as soon as I sit in the room assigned to me, in comes Dr.Rassaq. Whenever you get quick service from a doctor, it's usually not a good thing, right? (small attempt at humor)

Basically, long story short, my blood tests show that I have what is called Sjogren's Syndrome, which is an autoimmune disease. What I understand of it so far is that my body is attacking my eye and mouth glands as if they are foreign bodies, causing dry eyes, dry mouth, fatigue, bad teeth, and possibly leads into lupis later in life.

I can't take the medication I need to for it since the medication is bad news for baby....What scares the doo out of me is the possible ill effects for my baby. The two biggies are: fetal lupis, and/or congenital heart defects. This one day has slammed me from "normal" pregnancy into "high risk" pregnancy.

    Well, I'm freaking. Naturally.

So since my specialist is two blocks from my Obgyn, I ran up to see if they would let me at least speak to the nurse, Sherry. Thank God, Sherry wasn't busy. Sherry wrote everything down, said she would give the information to Dr. Moss first thing Monday (as Dr.Moss was not in the office today), and told me to try to stay calm this weekend. "Dr.Moss knows about things like this. She'll get us a game plan so try to keep calm," Sherry told me.

I feel a little better, but my insides still feel like knots and I keep crying as I think that my baby could have something wrong with him/her.

Prayers are all we ask from those who do. Right now, that's all we can ask for. Hopefully Dr. Moss will call me Monday and tell me what we are to do.

Until then...please pray for my baby....

This is the part that worries me the most: They have discovered the key to their destinies, yes, he admitted, but the Emperor now knows where to focus his efforts to find them. There is no place for them to hide now.

Oh, my word. I am so sorry to hear about you and your baby. I hope you find a way to treat it without harming your child, and that your baby is healthy.

Luke and Anakin had done it!

Yay, I'm so happy to hear that Luke is alright.:)

Qui-Gon sobered. Either way, Palpatine will be a great challenge for them all. Let us hope that they realize what makes them strong before Palpatine does and uses it against them as a weakness. If that should happen?the galaxy will fall.

    I hope Palpatine doesn't realize that. [face_worried]

    Hellllooooooo readers!!!

Yes, 'tis me and I am back!!

I am so incredibly sorry that it has been two YEARS!! Wow, I couldn't even believe it! But now I am adjusted to my medical condition as much as I can be, my youngling turns two in a week and a half, and I live in GA again--being unemployed by these hard economic times. Since I'm at (forced) stay-at-home mom, I now have PLENTY of time to write again and I plan on it!

Storms of Fate WILL be completed, this I promise you! Look for an update VERY soon!!

    Chapter Fourteen

It was very, very cold. So cold that if you stood long enough in one place, you would freeze solid. It was miserable being on Hoth, but the Rebellion had decided to retreat to here after Luke recovered from his battle with Exar Kun. Kun had retreated but Anakin and Luke both felt he was still in existence and that to remove the Rebellion?s base of operations from Yavin 4 was best. They just had not known that the next planet on the list to hide on was a big ball of ice.

Luke suppressed his sigh?fearing it would freeze in the air around his face?and glanced around again. He did not see a sign of any living creature, let alone stormtroopers. In fact, the only thing he saw was a shining streak of fire as a meteor as it hit a mountain peak near him.

?Echo Three to Echo Seven,? he said into his wrist comm. ?Han, old buddy, do you read me??

There was a crackle of static and then he heard Han say, ?Loud and clear, kid. What?s up??

Luke again looked around and saw nothing but his tauntaun. ?Well I finished my circle and I don?t pick up any life readings.?

?There?s not enough life on this ice cube to fill a space cruiser,? Han replied, making Luke laugh. ?Sensors are placed?I?m going back.?

?Right. I?ll see you shortly. There?s a meteorite that hit the ground near here. I want to check it out. It won?t take long.?

He had no sooner clicked off with Han than his tauntaun began to bray and buck underneath him. He felt fear from her, though he did not see anything around them. ?Steady, girl. What?s the matter? You smell something??

Suddenly he felt a burst of hunger-induced anger. Luke whipped around on his tauntaun to see an ice creature lunge out of the snow, fangs elongated and mouth open. He tried to bring his arm up to defend himself, but the creature?s claws caught him across the face, ripping through flesh and knocking him, unconscious, from the tauntaun?s back.

Han Solo rode his tauntaun through the frozen docking bay of the Rebel Alliance. He quickly handed over the reigns to a bundled caretaker and strode to his precious ship, the Millennium Falcon. His co-pilot, Chewbacca, sat astride the bulkhead with a wielding gun fixing yet another cracked piece of ship. The Falcon was not doing so well in the cold of Hoth.

It took three tries but Han finally caught Chewie?s attention, though his Wookie friend scolded him for not helping sooner on his ship.

?All right!? Han placated, holding his hands up. ?Don?t lose your temper. I?ll come right back and give you a hand.?

Chewie muttered a cross reply and got back to work.

Han peeled off his thick coat and protective gear as he neared the command center and things warmed up in the corridors. Glancing in the central hub of the Rebellion, he spotted Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan leaning over a display. Leia noticed movement in the doorway and saw him. She gave him a look he could not identify and then turned back to her work.

He suppressed a surge of irritation and decided to talk to General Dodonna first, who was checking on fleet statistics.

General Dodonna looked over his shoulder and noticed Han standing near him. ?Solo??

?No sign of life out there, General,? Han informed him. ?The sensors are in place. You?ll know if anything comes around.?

Dodonna nodded. ?Commander Skywalker reported in yet??

Han glanced at a display as he answered. ?No. He?s checking out a meteorite that hit near him.?

The general sighed and responded, ?With all the meteor activity in this sector it?s going to be difficult to spot approaching ships.?

?General, I got to leave. I can?t stay anymore,? Han told the older man bluntly.

Dodonna looked fully at Han finally. ?I?m sorry to hear that,? he said, and Han heard the truth in his words.

Han shrugged. ?Well, there?s a price on my head. If I don?t pay off Jabba the Hutt I?m a dead man.?

?A death mark?s not an easy thing to live with,? Dodonna agreed. ?You?re a good fighter, Solo. I hate to lose

    Chapter Fifteen

Anakin Skywalker zoomed in his speeder across the pristine white of the snow and ice. The sun had barely begun to show itself when he led a couple of men in what few speeders had been adapted to the cold of Hoth to search for Solo and Luke. Flying on his wing was Wedge Antilles, who was nearly as anxious as Leia to find Luke.

They ate up the ground quickly in the speeders. Anakin focused in the Force, trying to read his son?s distinctive signature, but not having much success. Either Luke was unconscious?or dead, and he refused to think that Luke had survived an attack by a Sith Lord just to fall prey to the severe conditions of Hoth.

?Sir,? his comm crackled with Wedge?s voice. ?I have something. Not much, but it could be a life-form.?

Anakin allowed Wedge to take point. As the two went over a steep ridge, Anakin?s own screen lit up with a blip that had to be a heat reading.

?Captain Solo, do you copy? This is Rogue Two. Please respond,? Wedge?s voice called out into the ice.

A crackle on the comm and then, ?Good morning! Nice of you guys to drop by.?

He could hear the smile in Wedge?s voice as Wedge communicated that they had found the two missing men to the Rebel base.

As they swooped over a small shelter and turned back around to land, Anakin could make out Han waving his hand like mad at them.

Anakin smiled. They had found them!

After several hours in a bacta tank, Luke finally regained full consciousness. He was weak, but warm, and although his face still had a few more treatments to go before it was fully healed, the gashes had shortened into deep cuts. Once he was out of the tank and dressed again, the Two-OneBe droids allowed Luke to have visitors.

For Luke that meant all his friends at once.

?Master Luke, sir! It?s so good to see you fully functional again!? Threepio exclaimed as he whirled into the room with Artoo on his heels. When the little droid trilled, Threepio added, ?Artoo expresses his relief also.?

Then a deeper voice caught Luke?s attention.

?How ya feelin?, kid? You don?t look so bad to me,? Han said as he breezed into the room. Luke couldn?t help but smile. The droids had told him who came after him on Hoth and saved his life. ?You look strong enough to pull the ears off a gundark.?

Chewbacca placed his large paw on Luke?s shoulder with surprising gentleness and whoofed his own expression of relief.

?Thanks to you,? Luke said softly.

Han smiled at him. ?That?s two you owe me, junior.?

Leia emerged and gave him a quick hug, then got as far from Han as she could in the small room. Anakin came in next and searched Luke?s still slightly swollen face.

?I heard your call,? his father told him quietly.

Luke nodded once, but was unable to reply since Han had turned to Leia and was smirking at her.

?Well, Your Worship, looks like you managed to keep me around for a little longer,? the cocky smuggler said.

Luke raised an eyebrow at his twin, wondering what exactly had gone on between the two while he was fighting off the wampa.

?I had nothing to do with it,? Leia retorted. ?General Rieekan thinks it?s dangerous for any ships to leave the system until we?ve activated the energy field.?

Han nodded, and continued, ?That?s a good story.? He crossed his arms over his chest. ?I think you just can?t bear to let a gorgeous guy like me out of your sight.?

Luke rolled his eyes at Han?s selfishness.

Leia shook her head and her eyes flashed. ?I don?t know where you get your delusions, laser brain.?

Chewbacca huffed a laugh, causing Han?s attention to turn to his co-pilot and friend.

?Laugh it up, fuzzball, but you didn?t see us alone in the south passage.? Han crossed over to Leia and put his arm around her shoulders, grinning like a fool. Leia looked as if she might skin him alive and eat him. ?She expressed her true feelings for me.?

Leia jerked away from his touch. ?My--! Why you stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking nerf herder!?

Han did not seem to be afraid
