ST Stormtroopers... Here?

& perhaps Ewoks have sided with the loyalist Empire. About time those fabric softener bears got a little payback...

I have a hard time seeing how it would work. Are you suggesting new cannon fodder that we have yet to see? I'd love to think so, but it has become apparent (to me anyways) that Disney clearly wants the traditional original trilogy setup as far as soldiers and vessels are concerned.

I think maybe the rumors about Han captaining his own star destroyer may concern an act of piracy or sabotage. Ever seen "Down Periscope?"

Is that an art work or is it official? It looks fantastic.

 

I was thinking about the new trooper helmets and they now have that middle part that's separate from the rest of the 'face'. Is it possible that that bit kind of moves downwards and maybe the eye lenses retract so that the helmet is open and the person's face can be seen? I was thinking maybe they would use a design like that so the actors can wear the helmet and have their face still be seen - rather than like previous clone/stormtrooper helmets that were either on or off.

 

Anyone got a good look on the new guns? Stormtroopers upgraded a lot since last we saw them. Odd that the TIE fighters are the same. Wonder where they are being deployed.

 

The guns look upgraded, but are the troopers' aiming skills improved?

 

I was watching the trailer and i was actually surprised, the stormtroopers look threatening for once

 

Maybe those are the Emperor's best troops. Maybe he was being thirty years too early in his declarations.

 

Can someone post a screen capture of the new stormtroopers and their gear?

Is it just me, or is the focus of that shot the shortest stormtrooper? I wonder if that's Boyega. Like Mark Hamill he's 5'9", which would make him a little short to be a stormtrooper.

 

it does seem to focus on the short one.

 

I'm guessing it is him. Maybe something happens after his team gets dropped off, and then later on he ends up in the desert alone. A deserter in the desert, perhaps?

I think one of these must be Boyega. This scene is clearly putting us IN with these guys, we're among them as they're being deployed and it looks like we're going to follow them out into the battlefield or whatever their mission entails. If there wasn't a good guy present, it would be very strange for us to be following the enemy's POV so closely.

 

But they removed the back piece. That lowers it to just above average looking.
