    That's awesome! It's like a best-of gallery :p
It's scary that I'm beginning to acually know many of the artists there! But also, so so cool :D

My only regret, is that it's just those crummy paper masks that you slop together. While that can be fun for around the house for playing around, I really can't expect that any kid would use it as an out n out Halloween mask. I've never seen em anyway.
But the art for the mask themselves are so cool :D
Makes me wish some more of the artists around here were discovered by Lucasfilm too so I could see their work translated like this.
But then, I also wish some of the artists there posted here too :p

Beautiful work Otis! And all the other artists there too! :D It's amazing to see such great work done by the people here!

Almost makes me wish Australia celebrated Halloween to see little aussie kids running around with these on. *considers all the candy and sweets i'd have to buy to feed the little darlings* Erm...maybe not! ;)

Great work as always Otis, and thanks for sharing. :)

    Thanks, everyone. :D

For anyone interested, I recently posted a "how-to" about the process I used for making the Palpatine mask image over at my new StarWars.com blog.

    Check it out!

That was a very informative "How-to" post. Thanks. I probably would never have thought of just doing half the face and then copying, flipping and putting the two halves together. That cuts your work time in half.

In all honesty, it was more about how best to create a symmetrical face. But it does help with saving time, too.

It's a trick I picked up using 3D modelling programs and Adobe Illustrator, where it's used quite extensively. It can be used in Photoshop as well, but this is the first time I think I've used it on a character like this.

    Wow!! Sketchy stuff from Otis!!

I'm with PLJ here--the LOTR characters Clone Wars style is just fabulous! It's so great to see how you detail even simple sketches like this!

If that's "Clone Wars style", then those guys at Cartoon Network ripped me off! ;)

Seriously, it's just my style, the way I draw. Clean lines, simple shapes, a bit cartoony with a few details. Just me.

But I appreciate the kind words. :D

Great to see other stuff you're working on Otis. Gah, I'm so jealous of all these wonderful artists getting together to form such cool collector series, I should get my butt working on some collabs some time.

*reads you watched all three extended editions in one day* I did that once. I felt like I had to go to the hospital and get the shock paddles out on my @rse in an attempt to save it! :D Even with hourly breaks that's still at least nine hours couching and your butt can only take so much! LOL Glad you're a reformed fan now...anything that attributes that amount of budget to the art department has to be wonderful.

Great work as always Otis and hope to see some of these when you finally can show us. :)

For me and my mother it was the opposite - it took days to watch all of them. What was unexpected is that I found the films so funny - they were not made to be comedies, but there was something that made them so funny. And Sam is like R2D2 - always there when you need him, the real hero.

That is awesome, I'd love to do something like that. If you can't do them all, I'll take some on and you can sign your name to them!

How did you get this gig? I'm guessing you were approached by Topps because you did the SW sketch cards or did you have to apply. I guess I really should be asking how did you get the SW sketch cards gig?

I think my problem is that I'm kinda a nobody with no connections to anyone in the comic & card biz.
