I'm not a newbie, persay, but I am to this EU forum. I got to thinking and was very curious as to if they have ever addressed OB1's history in any of the EU? Where does he come from? Why does he have an accent? How old is he supposed to be? If someone could lead me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

Well, I'd recommend the Jedi Apprentice series, as it sheds some light on Obi-Wan's early days. The focus is mainly on his training with Qui-Gon, but the first few books provide a few glimpses into his life at the Jedi Temple and a flashback or two to his young life before he came to the Temple.

Unfortunately, his accent has yet to be explained. :)

Almost all Imperial Officers have "english" accents and we know that the Center of the Empire is Courscant. Obi-Wan was trained on Courscant, so that may explain his accent. Otherwise, I'd say it's because he's protrayed by english actors. :p
