Stupid Question

This might sound trivial, but I'm writing a fic with more than one major character death in it and I don't know whether the rating should be PG or PG-13. Does it depend on how much details there are?

 

It doesn't matter because the rating cannot be above PG in any case. Before you post anything, please read the FAQ, which is stickied at the top of this forum.

The boards are PG, so PG-13 is not allowed.

You should read through the Fan Fic FAQ stickied at the top of the thread to see what the limits are.

Thanks. As for not reading the FAQ, I did, and I wasn't only talking about posting it on the boards, just in general.

 

this reminds me what is the policy on major/canon character death? I know in another fandom authors are generally asked to warn readers that there will be a canon character death up front. Is that the policy here?

As long as it's not described graphically, I don't believe there are any restrictions on killing major characters. You might want to warn readers who'd be ticked off at you, though.

I'd wager that every major canon character has been killed off hundreds of times over.

I know I've offed a few in my day.

Like Renata said, as long as there is not too much graphic detail, you should be fine.
