Not sure if that's very accurate; namely the memes for Harley and Deadshot.

I'd have to see it again. I know about Harley going back to the Animated Series, and from what I know she
    doesn't care about being normal.

In Harley's fantasy, she sees herself as normal and the Joker as well, living a quiet life and having two children. In Floyd's fantasy, he manages to shoot Batman after being knocked down.

My friend saw it this weekend and we pretty much agreed that we both enjoyed it despite the issues. His two issues were
    (1) the dancing Enchantress and how odd that seemed, and (2) Harley seemed out of character in the bar scene when she told Diablo to "own it". Crazy people don't own up to anything so who is she to say that to him.

That meme is astonishingly awful. Like its creator should be ashamed.

Well she certainly owned up to gaining at least some independence from the Joker; at least that's how she's portrayed in the comics lately.

So sites such as Fandango and BOM are still listing this movie at 2 hours and 10 minutes, even though it's only 2 hours. So was there 9-10 minutes of footage cut out at the last minute?

Is it exactly two hours, or are there two hours + 10min of credits?

Harley did work at Arkham, so her telling Diablo to own up to who he was and what he did, does make sense.

I just like the notion of a hardcore Harley. Yes, granted she's usually gonna be the life of the party and you'll be hard-pressed to see anything but a big smile on her face; but where she really shines is how she always sees the glass as half full. She persevered through years with the Joker, and any abuse coming her way is like child's play to her. Reminds me of a point in one of the first Suicide Squad comics where the entire squad is being tortured, and she plays along with it; saying "you think you're scary. Mister, I've seen scary, and you ain't got his smile." You've gotta love that line.

    You mean the relaunched comics.

Modern Harley is this really strange mix of slapstick comedy and strange psychosexual romanticism, and I feel writers are too into pointing this out. It's this weird "fallen woman" trope, that somehow by distancing herself from the Joker she's redeeming herself, and yet we can never forget her experiences, to the point where that defines her. It's just...weird.

And yet in the original animated series where she debuted, she works very well! Ambiguity and restraint go a long way, and we see her struggles and successes and everything in between. It's great!

In the Arkhamverse, I'll be honest? She's just plain annoying.

Though there's not exactly a great record of female representation there.

Last night I just rewatched the "Harvey and Ivy" episode from Batman: The Animated Series. That's a really great episode; showing the dynamic of her character from the Joker's sidekick to a formidable duo with Ivy.

I really liked Harley in this, but I wish the relationship with the Joker was closer to how it was in Assault on Arkham. But they probably chickened out on that.

They chickened out of a possibly decent R rated action flick which is odd. Deadpool made a killing, and the UC of BvsS is selling pretty well I think.

The wrong lesson from Deadpool is "if you make it R, they will watch it." Chasing a rating guarantees nothing.
