Summer Challenge - Judges needed

If there were two judges for each story, it could still work by having, say, the top 5 or so scoring entries being judged by the rest of the judges for a final count. That way those entries would get the most judging while not having too much work for any one judge.

I'm cool with having two reviewers rather then one. I realise it is a personal taste thing with most stories too. So rather then five each you'd get ten...which is cool. It's still shorter then judging twenty.

I'll volunteer for the Beyond the Saga section. I'm not familiar with either of the others.

 

I like your idea, Kit. If we were judging fics for all three boards, I?d say it might be a conflict of interest. However, since we get to stick to the era we enjoy most, I think the judging will stay fair.

 

This system sounds good. Two judges read ten, and from those ten they pick five, and then the other judges judge those five, and all together they choose the best?

I was thinking more like the judges choose their top two or three. That way there is less juding/reading overall.

Okay, judging is really going to go on as long as is neccessary (until we are finished).

And yes, you can write in an era in which you are not a judge.

I don't know exactly what i'd have to do but if you want i'll try the Beyond The Saga entries.
It's after my exams so it'll be fun.
Also it would be good if each entry is read by two but the top story for each judge would then read them all.

 

Kit I was just checking out the challenge thread itself. and we can't take bribes?! It goes against my principles to not take bribes and then go against it!

 

Can we expect the Fics to be PMed to us by someone when it's time for judging? How will that work?

 

I was wondering something like that. When the judges 'judge' where do we go and what do we do?

Actually, I could probably handle any of the categories.. I'm primarily a ByS reader/writer, but I like reading other fics sometimes. ^^

(just read over the first page of posts again... I can take the fifth position on the Before the Saga. Should be an enlightening experience for me. lol...
only problem is, I get home on the 25th, so there's three days of the time-span I won't have access to TFN. After that - absolutely no real life at all. XD so plenty of time after..)

 

If you need any more judges, I'd be happy to judge The Saga, as I'm already competing in Beyond.
