FF:SA Supanova - Sydney - October 16 & 17 2005

I'm thinking that I'd really like to go.... more for the atmosphere rather than the guests. Who else is interested?

So far, their guests are:

Sam Jones who was Flash Gordon in the 1980?s movie; Tiffany Grant the voice of Asuka from Neon Genesis Evangélion; and Michael Turner.

I'm sure they'll announce more soon. Tickets are only $25 for a 2-day pass, which is pretty cool. Conventions are funny... you would be surprised by who you meet. I met at least 2 other Adelaidians at the LotR con in Canberra last November. Either way, it'll be fun to hang out

hmmmmm, considering that Fox is now officially a member of the 501st - and if I can ever loose enough weight I might consider some armour myself....

but...we won't be going to this as far as I know - he's got a ski trip in September, we've got KI soon..enough holidays for one year. Money can only stretch so far, unfortunately!

As far as i know what we are planning to do is to troop around, maybe work out a background where people can get their photo taken with us as well as hiring a table(depending on costs) so we can have somewhere to rest in between trooping..

It is great fun, i have to 2 Supanovas already over past couple of years..

As for initiations

Well i leave that up to the CO

 

Reactor Drone's been to at least one of them before. I'm not sure which one though. He thought it was okay..... (let's see if he pipes up)

Yes I went to the one in Sydney last year which had a couple of star wars guests.Eliana Dona(Kell Borean) and Nalini Krishan(Barriss Offee).Have no idea still what Eliana did in Ep 3-was still all very hush hush.Guess I'll have to wait for the DVD and try to track her down.

The venue isn't the best since they have 2 talks going similtaneously with no walls separating them but it's cheap to get in and lots of costumed characters around.On the other hand I did get to meet Richard Taylor and handle some LOTR props(which was nice)

Might see if I can make it to this one but it's just before my stargate cons so it may be pushing things.

 

Thanks RD I thought about going to BOBW 26 or that one day SG1 / Atlantis con in Melb, but I don't think the budget will stretch that far. It must have been awesome to meet Richard Taylor Are you going to BOBW 25? I had to cancel my tickets unfortunately Wanted to go, but with moving house and bills and stuff, simply can't afford it.

I'm going to the LOTR one in august then doing a sydney/canberra FSF/BOBW stargate atlantis double in november(and also sneaking in the First contact Andromeda con in late august).

Seems like everyone I know is going to miss the next LOTR con either through being oversees or financially challenged.

Supanova is a very busy event though,you can't see everything so you have to pick and choose...and yes,Richard Taylor was cool,pity I didn't have my armour with me.

 

Cool, i was busy last time too, only thing that sucked about the Supanovas was no change rooms for us troopers so either u change in car park or find a place to do ti like toilets...

Thats why we are thinking of getting a table so we can sort of change behind it...
