So now that we have no choice but to look at the playoffs objectively (well, once the Titans flat out level the Steelers), I'm wondering who's picking who in the playoffs.

My old prediction is out (b-bye Packers) so now I'm going week by week:

    AFC:
    Titans over Steelers
Raiders over Jets (close call, it's a pick 'em)

    NFC:
    Eagles over Falcons
    Bucs over Niners (dammit)

SIDENOTE EDIT: Fazio retired and DL Coach Hamilton has been released by the Browns. Does this mean that when Courtney and Jamir come back and stay healthy, they'll be used in an attacking defense that utilizes their athleticism? I think the strongest part of our defense is our front seven: Lang, Roye, Warren and Brown with Rogers, McKinney and Word behind them, then linebackers Miller, Rudd (keep your hat on!), Holmes and Hambrick! I mean COME ON! There's way too much talent there to not be successful.

    AFC:
    Steelers over Titans
    Raiders over Jets

    NFC:
    Eagles over Falcons
    Bucs over Niners

    Following week:

    Steelers over Raiders
    Eagles over Bucs

    Super bowl: All Pennsylvania Bowl!
    Steelers over Eagles

Okay so maybe it's a pipe dream, but I'm smoking it

2 down for me, 2 to go...

Congrats to JM Sal for being with me on the Eagles over Falcons. They didn't manhandle the Falcons, except where it counts: The Scoreboard.

Congrats to Jango for being with me on the Titans over Steelers. That has to be one the dirtiest, sloppiest played playoff games I've ever seen. Lots of mistakes on both sides and some not-to-terribly-clean shots from both teams. Especially the one on Eddie George that didn't get flagged. Helmet-to-helmet, knocked him out, BS no call. That was dirty. Plain and simple. The hit on Burress by Schulters (I think) was NOT dirty. It wasn't even helmet-to-helmet. But he gets flagged and will probably get fined.

The NFL needs to solve this problem with rules... at least until tackling is taught properly again. Wrap the guy up, you've heard of form tackles, right? Use 'em!

    <climbs off soapbox>

Anywhoo, maybe tomorrow will prove my picks wrong. I can't really decide that Jets/Raiders game. It's so close! However, I'm gonna stick with the Raiders so I don't look all wishy-washy. 49ers have to come up huge against the Bucs, and (for once) I don't think the Bucs will fold up like playoff origami. But we'll see.

    SCOREBOARD

    JM Sal:
3/4. I'm willing to say 3/3 because you really shouldn't pick your home team, but you picked Pittsburgh so it's 3/4.

    Krash:
0/4. Krash, Krash, Krash... You anchored sports corner! I expected better from you. Good thing I didn't go to Vegas on your picks.

    Jango:
2/4. Not bad... I'll chalk up the .500 mark to having your head cut off.

    Random:
Ya only picked two games, but ya picked 'em dead on. That ain't bad, but you're a tad late to the dance. Kinda like when you scored at the prom, but with one of the janitorial staff.

    BMack:
4/4 for me... Seriously though... I actually did amaze myself. First time I nailed four picks without a dartboard.

I slay me... All in good fun guys... ;)

My Conference Championship picks will be up Monday or Tuesday.

EDIT: Turds!! I can't believe I forgot to sign this... Wait, this is tripe, yes I can....

The Super Bowl is going to be the Eagles over the Raiders. However, both NFC teams would be good against Oakland. The Eagles would give them a better game while the Bucs would be interesting in that Jon Gruden coached Oakland last year and Tampa this year.

The most important thing is, all the remaining teams have great looking cheerleaders. :p

    Gotta go with...

And these are gonna be real football games!

Yes, but I concentrated on KENT sports back then. ANd ever since The Screaming Wookies made it to my league's Super Bowl (week 15) I've been on vacation from THINKING about football. Although I was very happy to see Tampa win (my defense did me proud)

And unlike "Guns n Roses"...I will be able to make a comeback:

Eagles over Tampa Bay (breaks my heart)
    Raiders over Titans

Now I'm screwed, Krash made the same picks I did!

I will now take this opportunity to go on record as saying he's either jinxing me or copying me, or a little of both in the case of a split.

    UPDATED SCOREBOARD

    JM Sal:
No new picks... Still at 3/4...

    Krash:
Jinxed one of my picks but the Raiders were too strong for your hoodoo voodoo! Woohoo! :p Now at 1/6...

    Jango:
No new picks... Still at 2/4...

    Random:
Looks like your one week magic went bbye... Oh well... Sith happens. Now at 2/4...

    Reborn:
Jumps in late, only guy go hang with the Bucs... Goes 1/2...

    JJJ:
Also jumps in late... Goes 1/2 with the Raiders...

    BMack:
Jinxed by Krash... (see above) Goes 5/6 with the Raiders kickin Tennessee all over the field. Glad the Bucs won... I didn't think they'd get past Philly

Super Bowl Picks are now open for any changes but those picks with teams still eligible will stand.

Given the way they played Sunday, I have to go with the Bucs over the Raiders in, as Keith Jackson would put it, a real barn burner*.

*That means it'll be a close game.

For simplicity's sake, I'll just make a list. That way people can add their name to it depending on who they think will win.

    RAIDERS
    Random
    JJJ

    BUCS
    Krash
    Don
