As a few of you might know, I'm very new to FX work. Actually, video of any kind. With this years LCC coming up, however, I'm trying to increase my knowledge of after effects and camera work. Here is a short 'super speed' FX test, let me know what you think and what needs work.

    A few notes:

Unfortunately, I didn?t have a tripod, so it?s not as steady as it should be.

The fog in the background was very ugly, so I made it brighter, but it might have negative effects on the rest of the picture.

That whoosh isn?t added in. The recorded sound did that with the editing.

Other than the slight jerk in the camera movement, nice work!

I thought it would look nice if there is the faintest of light colored dust unsettling as she runs away. Does anybody know where I can find such an element, or one that can be edited?

The time remap feature would be an awesome way to accelerate into the fast motion, that way you're not just clicking form one speed to the next.

Thinking about it ... the effect would have been better seen if the shot was a little wider. It was kind of quick.

Cool. I like it. What program are you using and what effect did you use?

After Effects. I used in and out points to skip frames and then applied a directional blur.

Not too shabby, camera shake was my only nitpick.
