    The exact quote from Richard Edlund says "over 500 miles", not "exactly 500 miles".

    Out of curiosity, what's the functional difference between mass-lightening and inertial compensation, antigravity, tractor beams, interdiction, repulsorlifts, artificial gravity, various vongtech, etc...

    Scaling up based on shield output Venator to SSD and dividing by volume and assuming a six year supply of consumables gives a fully loaded total density (considering only fuel) of about 45,000 tons/m^3.

    Giving it a surface gravity (assuming a spherical SSD :p) within about 10% of Earth's, only considering fuel. A silly calculation, admittedly...
