Artists and writers who create superheroes and tell of their adventures are always one of the highlights of the Metropolis Superman Celebration. And this year, fans will have the opportunity to meet several of these talented individuals during the four-day event June 11-14 in Metropolis, Illinois.

Gail Simone will be the featured writer during the 31st annual Superman Celebration. Simone is a multiple award-winning writer of comics, video games, and animation. She has had critically-acclaimed runs writing Superman, the Justice League, Simpsons Comics, Birds of Prey, Secret Six and many other titles, including her current character-defining run on the monthly Wonder Woman title.

Simone has also written for animation for the Justice League Unlimited series and Tomb Raider, and she shares a writing credit for the recent animated Wonder Woman movie. She is currently working on several film and video game projects as well as continuing her popular work in comics. She lives with her husband, son, and two dogs in a small town on the Oregon coast.

Mike Norton is this year?s featured artist. Norton has made a name for himself working on books like Queen and Country, Gravity, Runaways, Teen Titans,Go!, All-New Atom, Metamorpho and Countdown. Norton is a regular artist on Green Arrow/Black Canary and will be finishing up Trinity this year which is DC's new weekly series and features the characters Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. He will be doing Blue Beetle features for the Booster Gold Series at DC soon.

He wrote for The Spectre, a DC Comics series about the manifestation of the wrath of God. Other DC stories for Ostrander include Firestorm, Justice League, Martian Manhunter, Manhunter, Suicide Squad, and Wasteland. At Marvel Comics, Ostrander has also worked on X-Men, Bishop, Quicksilver, Heroes for Hire and the Punisher.

His work has won him a good deal of recognition in the comics field, including nominations for the Comics Buyer's Guide Award for favorite writer in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000. In December 2006, DC Comics published a new Batman story-arc titled 'Grotesk' written by Ostrander that ran through Batman issues 659-662. He is the current writer on Star Wars: Legacy for Dark Horse Comics.

Josh Elder is the creator of the Mail Order Ninjah graphic novel series and nationally syndicated comic strip as well as being a writer for DC Comics' The Batman Strikes and the Star Craft graphic novel line. Elder?s works also include the romantic comedy graphic novel Love Bytes for Platinum Studios. He has also worked as an associate editor at the comic-centric magazine Wizard and currently writes graphic novel reviews for the Chicago Sun-Times.
