I think that it's probably best if we all go for a drink after the film really, that way we are guaranteed Lord Tice's prescence

Just had an email from BFI and even though it's only Wednesday, the peak time showings of Superman in IMAX are sold out for Friday and Saturday:-

    FRIDAY 21 JULY

    12.00 Superman Returns
    15.00 Superman Returns
    18.00 Superman Returns
21.00 Superman Returns - Sold Out

    SATURDAY 22 JULY

    11.00 Deep Sea 3D
    12.30 Deep Sea 3D
    14.00 Superman Returns
    17.00 Superman Returns
20.00 Superman Returns - Sold Out
    23.00 Superman Returns

I expect that nearly all performances will be sold out shortly and that it was a good idea of Matt to book early [face_peace]

I should have posted this email from IMAX (that I received on the 12th July from IMAX) these were completely sold out on all performances by the day of release :-

    12.30 Deep Sea 3D
    14.00 Superman Returns
    17.00 Superman Returns
20.00 Superman Returns - SOLD OUT
23.00 Superman Returns - SOLD OUT

    SATURDAY 15 JULY

    11.00 Deep Sea 3D
    12.30 Deep Sea 3D
14.00 Superman Returns - SOLD OUT
17.00 Superman Returns - SOLD OUT
20.00 Superman Returns - SOLD OUT
    23.00 Superman Returns

    SUNDAY 16 JULY

    10.30 Deep Sea 3D
    12.00 Superman Returns
    15.00 Superman Returns
18.00 Superman Returns - SOLD OUT
    21.00 Superman Returns

Any DMR IMAX release is like this for the first few weeks due to the BFI relatively small capacity|!

Darn right, it's also a brilliant film (imo) ;)
And defo resist seeing your priate copy Steve. A big part of the thrill is seeing it on the big screen completely fresh, especially the title sequence.

agreed, I managed to resist ROTS, so Suprman will be no problem at all.

Have seen a sneak peak at the titles thats all for a few seconds

Would have been nice to see it in digital first but IMAX with 3d scenes is cool, why didn't they do the whole film in 3D !?!!

    Becuase that would be:
    a- expensive
b- take longer to get the film out
c- at some points, there would be no point in going 3D

But I wish they did the bullet crumple in 3D

Well, Ghosts of The Abyss is all in 3D!

Just seems weird to shoot scenes only, meaning we have to keep swapping glasses on and off throughout the film

The whole film would benefit from being in 3D, just ask anyone who's seen an IMAX 3D film?

I think it also comes down to money. WB spent shed loads on this film as it is, and it wasn't made for IMAX unlike GotA. I'm not even sure if I'm going to like it in 3D so 20 mins is fine by me :p

    We will meet between 5-5:30pm inside the main entrance to the IMAX at Waterloo. Because my seminar starts very early in the morning and is very pratical, I may give the drinks a miss as I'll be half asleep by the end of the day 8-}
I'll see how I feel though.

Have seen the film now and it was great, I'd recommend anyone to see it, especially in 3D at The IMAX, I saw POTC on the same day and that was just ok in comparison

Many thanks to Matt for the tickets and good to see Fizz also

I you are going, make sure you book well in advance as nearly all shows are sold out 2-3 days in advance [face_peace]

No probs steve. Was good seeing you & Fizz again, and the IMAX experience was great!! :D

Personally I prefer the 2D version, but this was well worth seeing and something different. Next up is the Ant Bully 3D ;)

Anything in IMAX is great, especially if it's 3D.

If only all cinemas has such great stadium style seating, superb digital surround and giant projection screens.
