?You ain't got nothing, your life was just a lie.
No there's no light, no there's no time?
    - ?Cassandra Gemini?, The Mars Volta

He had escaped from the wrath of his father for now, escaped from the endless lies of the Empire. Pain shot through him, his haggard hands clutching his blonde-haired head in pain. Utilizing all of his willpower, he cut himself from the stream of the Force, allowing him to hide in the shadows from those who hunted him. The last remnant of his senses brought him a great disappointment, a raging scream, and death.

Relief was his first feeling as he slumped down onto the Coruscant ground, wrapping the folds of his cloak around him to keep him warm. His eyelids fluttered twice, threatening to take him into the realm of sleep. No! Stay awake! His mind screamed, forcing his bloodshot eyes open. He stood up on frail legs, feeling as though he would fall at any moment.

He ran across the durasteel streets, pulling the cowl of his cloak over his face, hiding his ocean-blue eyes from the wandering public; they would surely recognize him. On Coruscant, capital of galactic society, Luke Amidala Skywalker was safe nowhere. Where was he to go? He possessed no identification and no money at that as well. Luke continued to run, always looking back over his shoulder in fear; were they following him, looking for the only son of the greatest of all Sith Lords?

Only if Palpatine? It didn?t matter, the old man was dead and now, Luke was alone, scared for what seemed like more than the twelfth time in his short life. Rain began to pound the durasteel streets now, soothing his agitated skin, which had burned like fire. On the city-planet of Coruscant, rain was a rare thing and especially for Luke, a man who had rarely ever been outside before.

And of course, he became so distracted by this feeling that he barely noticed a pair of arms grab him, pulling him into a dark alleyway. Luke almost screamed as a lightsaber?s crimson blade came to rest under his chin; the owner was someone he had known all his life. Her mouth was twisted into an evil smile and yet she was still beautiful; Luke had admired her from afar.

In the end, she had been like his father, the thing he hated the most.

    Mara Jade, the Emperor?s Hand.

?Well, well, our Lord?s son seems to have escaped.? She pulled him in closer, the tip of the lightsaber singing his neck. It took all of his willpower to keep him from screaming, to turn his expression from shocked to defiant.

Luke spat in her face, his look one of defiance.

?And our Lord was so worried about your well-being!? She said, throwing him against the alley?s wall, her hand pinned against his chest. His anger hit the boiling point, his body and mind opening themselves back to the Force.

?Your lord doesn?t give a damn about me!? He bellowed in her face, the Force striking her. Jade moaned in pain as she hit the wall with a thud, her face contorted in pain; Luke ran, the Force assisting in enhancing his pace.

In the crowds, he was a blur, barely seen by onlookers; through his Force senses, he could sense Jade continuing the chase and on the streets of Coruscant, there was no where to go.

He couldn?t go up without her or them finding him.

He couldn?t go left or right without her or them finding him.

But he could go down, but the idea was absolute suicide.

Does it matter? He thought, speeding through a dark alley. Jade was hot on his heels. I am about to die anyway.

He chose and act. Luke leaped into the air, onlookers gasping and crying out in fear and horror. The moment he hit ground or what he thought was ground, he felt r

I like what you're doing here!
    Neat twist.

This was a really cool exchange:

    Great start.

Here's a little hint, which might snag you a few more readers, in your title line/thread title you might want to add in parentheses a short list of characters and the designation AU.
