The few of you who saw me know that I am a rather large person.
This is starting to adversely affect my health and outlook on most things.
Most safe diets really have not worked and I'm starting to feel bad.
If you were me would you consider weight loss surgery?

its really up to how you feel about it, you gotta think about if this will really make you happy, and is it worth it. if you say yes to both of these questions, then i think you should go for it

I also have been looking into the pro's and con's...The pro's really do look good... There is a wonderful clinic in Norfolk and of course Duke.
i myself am talking to my Doc. about LAP-BAND.. They do this in Durham Dr. Ross 919-660-2229. Check it out on the web... it'a alot safer and not as painful...

My stepmother had weight reduction surgery a few years ago. It was a tough recovery, but she felt it was well worth it. Good luck to you, Mike, in whatever decision you make.

i think you should try different types of workouts and diets and if you cant find one that works for you should do the surgery if your health is really bad but whatever you decide should be up to you so good luck

Go for it. If you have already tried the diets and they arent wanting to work for you, then my advice is to give it a shot.

Oh and I'm not worried about being normal, and generally don't care about how most people look or think of me.(I only care about what my family, friends, and extended family think.)

I have heard stories about those who have this surgery and they return to the weight they were before the surgery. I am overweight myself and to be honest I could do something about it but I am lazy. With that said, this needs to be done while you change your lifestyle in order to stay at the desired weight. I wish you the best and keep us informed on what is going on. May the force be with you "R2-FU2".

Man, my prayers are with you.

I am a registered nurse. Whatever you end up doing, please check out the surgeon/physician through the NCMD (North Carolina Medical Board).

If I can be of assistance to you, please do not hestitate to ask.
