    Ok, thought I would start this one for us local (SVRF peeps) folk who collect.

    So, everyone tell what you collect as far as Star Wars is concern. For those of SVRF vetrans who were able to make the trip, we had the privilege of attending the biggest Star Wars collection in the world. And guess what? It's not too far off in a galaxy called Petaluma. ;) The Rogues got to attend Steve Sansweets place (Rancho Obi-Wan) and got to view his collection. No words describe such a place. It's totally amazing.

    Rancho Obi-Wab gave me ideas about my own collection which is a spit in the ocean compared to Sansweet's but it's not too shabby either.

    I will start off by saying I collect anything and everything Star Wars. My collection reveals that. You will see 3 inch figures, 12 inch figures to the soda cans put out by Pepsi. Even the trading cards.

    Right now, I am trying to get all the basic ROTS figures bought up. I am also down to my last two Topps trading cards from having the complete set. Next will be the deluxe figures, as well as the 12 inch figures.

    Also, I just bought my first Burger King toy today: a Han Solo. I also have it on good authority in my town that Monday morning, when they open, Burger King will be giving 6 Darth Vader toys away. You bet your bantha I will be there Monday morning at 7AM!

    So, since, some of us live in different areas, and we collect, let's hear from other Rogues on what they collect, and when they got started, and what their favorites are. If you have pictures of your collection, let's see them.

    So, tell what you are into and what you havce seen in your area. Maybe we can hook up some trades and stuff.

    I will start that off.

    I have been collecting hard core since the mid eighties, but I have all the original characters from '78. I have a Darth Vader mask that was sold to my mom (for me) in '77 that is pre-Lucasfilm. It was made before Lucas bought all the rights to Star Wars. It ony has 20th Century Fox stamped on the inside. ;) I collect all things Star Wars, and right now, my favorite is the Star Wars miniatures. Gah!! Those things are addicting!! I just got Empreror Palpatine, which is considered VERY RARE. He will look nice sitting next to my Darth Vader as well. ;)

    I will have pictures of my collection up shortly. I am undergoing a remodling of my collection, trying to make room for the ROTS toys. ;)

    I began collecting in 4th grade. My first pieces were micromachiens. Soon my mom gave Han Solo in Endor gear for my fist figure. My collection has advanced in book, cards, figures, etc... My prequil collection is not as big as my OT colection, so I wish to improve that. The oddest item I own is a cook book called The Star Wars Cook Book: Wookiee Cookies and other Galactic Recipes". I have no pics at this time.

    Since I was around when the classic trilogy was released (Star Wars was the first movie I ever saw), I had many of the toys until I STUPIDLY sold them along with GIJOE, Masters of the Universe, and other 80s toys at a garage sale in 88.

    I thought I was too old and cool for to keep toys. DOH! They could have helped pay for my college tuition.

    In 1995, when the new line came out I started collecting again but then stopped after Attack of the Clones - just became too expensive for me.

    Nowadays Ill pick up a few things that look real cool, but now I tend to collect Star Wars magazines.... Old issues of Starlog, Insider, etc. I'm a magazine nut and love reading them and rereading them. I like to look back on what people's perspectives were at the time.

    I also get a kick out of reading an item like I did in an '83 Starlog where it reads The Bourne Identity will be coming out with Burt Reynolds in the lead role.

    For me, I sold most of my toys (which were well-loved and played with for years, and so not terribly collectible), but I have a plastic bag with virtually all of the original figures through the POTF collection, several coins, most/virtually all of the weapons/plastic capes/whatever they came with, and all of the cards from the figures themselves (torn on the front where I opened the figures, of course).

    I also have the ESB and ROTJ Burger King glasses, an unopened bottle of SW shampoo for a Yoda dispenser of some kind, and my old books, magazines, etc. (several items from Star Tours at Disneyland in the mid-late 1980s, Official Guides, etc.)

    These days, I'll be adding the C3 Vader (Thanks, LDV!! Could you bring it Sunday?), and I'm trying very very hard to obtain the Battle of the Heroes CD single that is currently out at radio stations--apparently it will go on sale separately to the general public on May 23, but I want one of the promo discs. I'm also trying to get a ROTS press kit, but I'm too cheap/poor to spend the $100+ they end up going for in the last few seconds of the auctions on eBay.

    And of course, there's the Yoda Underoos. :cool:

    My claim to Star Wars fame is I won an Atari 2600 (came with Space Invaders instead of Combat) in The Empire Strikes Back Burger King contest.

    Here's the story... my Mom takes me and my friend to BK where we got some Empire cards and then they gave us game cards. Seeing as I was only in first grade, I thought the game card was some sort of form we had to fill out to keep the cards?!

    Anyway, some months later, we got a call that I'd won.

    I still remember proudly carrying the box through the Burger King and later on that night building a "spaceship" out of chairs and blankets to sit in while I played Space Invaders.

    I don't collect a lot of the toys, although I do get some of the specialty ones (Star Tours, etc) but I like to get obscure things. Taco Bell cups and bags from pre-Episode 1, soda cans, cereal boxes, stuff like that. Just little knick-knacks, mostly.

    I've gotten Leia only. I found a connection within the 7/11 corp office and I was promised a set ASAP. I'll know more about that tonight.

    I'm also going to ask if I can somehow by a case of slurpee cups, sure I've got them all but if I can get a cheap price I'll do it and share them with all (and send some to Steve as well)

    The local 7-11 has promised me all the Lotto promotional material when the promo is over. That includes the big posters, and card stocks on the cash registers.

    I haven't been to a 7-11 in a while. Do you get the coin free when you buy a lotto ticket (WOOOT! I am old enough to gamble!!)?
    Looks like I gotta go get a Slurpee too.

    Edit: Thanks LDV. There's a 7-11 on the way to one of my field sites...sweeeet.

    My local 7-11 sold me mine for just a buck with no lotto ticket purchase.

    just ask them and mostly they will, since they don't care.

    Okay, since the paper didn't show any pics of my collection when he took a ton of pics of it, I figured I would take a few pics and post them so you guys could see, and before my room gets all cluttered again. ;)

    Mind you, I still have a closet filled, and I do mean filled of stuff I have no room for at the moment, followed by five boxes in front of the closet that have stuff I can't display.

    Here you go....

    [image=http://swanb.net/collection/Image2.jpg] [image=http://swanb.net/collection/Image3.jpg] [image=http://swanb.net/collection/Image4.jpg]
    [image=http://swanb.net/collection/Image5.jpg] [image=http://swanb.net/collection/Image6.jpg] [image=http://swanb.net/collection/Image7.jpg]
    [image=http://swanb.net/collection/Image8.jpg] [image=http://swanb.net/collection/Image9.jpg] [image=http://swanb.net/collection/Image10.jpg]
    [image=http://swanb.net/collection/Image12.jpg] [image=http://swanb.net/collection/Image13.jpg]

    There you have what I can display right now. I even had to resort to the ceiling for the ROTS figures!!

    Okay, off to make someone's Sith belt. Be back later!

    I found the Tarkin figure at Walmart yesterday. He looks pretty cool. On the package, you can see a better image of the person who played Tarkin. It's scary looking. He looks like Cushing did as a younger man.

    They had two.....the other is hidden to find it you'll need to solve a series of clues.
