SW TV series would be good. We would need a good director, writing, and actors.

I like the new Doctor Who episodes.

    SW could be in trouble

a fan must have the deepest of commitments....

    or

like the beginning of the Universe,
    (when ever that was)

    the moment SW got started
    (when ever that was)

The Force was with us, always.

Then 5 minutes later I did find something. Go to yakface.com and look at possible info for a C4 celebration in Los Angeles. I was suprised to see such an event but would love to go. Please share your thoughts

    VIO, thanks for C4 info!

Great news that it appears more likely to be happening, but bad bad bad sad that it's not local. No way that I can afford to tote the whole family to California. :-(

After the issues I had at the last Celebration (yes, 6 hour lines, i'm talking to you) I'm not really that hyped to attend another. Perhaps that puts my fan status in jeopardy, but they can just keep feeding us dogsh!t and expect us to injest it like it is candy.

There were just too many people...and they didn't care. Perhaps if they had one in LA and in Indy it would cut down on attendance and make the event bearable.

    Awesome idea, Xmav!

Parallel C4 events happening all across the USA. The only downside would be that the big name people would only be able to attend one or two of the events.

I wouldn't care though. Bring it on!

The long wait in lines was sad but I didn't blame anyone but myself for standing in it. I decided what was important (and was wrong in hindsight). SDCC last year learned from C3's mistake in this regard and you could obtain the "exclusive figure" by redeeming a voucher -- no long waits in line.

ref C4, hmmm....fans can hold any kind of event they want to,

    even a mock-C4, or event a mocking C3 event:)

anyway, have been out trooping in Indy Friday, and am now back at the old computer,
but only until this Thursday, when of to Portage Indiana, and then down to Bloomington,
with a few side trips to INDY, A nice two week vacation in fun-filled Indiana, my vacation
destination of choice for over 30-years.....hopefully will get a chance to post via ,
others with computers like local libraries, schools, and visitor centors, and maybe
even a KINKO's if I get desperate for my Star Wars fix.

MT: Great point! Yes, we fans can hold our own event. I'd be willing to put in effort to make a big SW event for South Bend. If we could start planning now, say, for an event that takes place next summer, perhaps right before C4 and the 30th anniversary celebration, that would be awesome. Wonder if we can involve the local theatres to show ANH?! Maybe at DPAC with the THX theatre?

Anyone here in the South Bend FanForce interested in trying to put such an event together? Now is the time to be doing it.

Perhaps now that we know of the local fanfilm troupe they can assist with the costuming that would be needed for such an event. Likely they are already experienced with marketing and recruiting/finding resources.

    Join, er, Forces? ;-)

    Anyone interested? Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?

A mock quote from the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". The boring, dry economics teacher portrayed by Ben Stein is oft mimicked by us "80's" kids.

Back to reality I return. Of course I don't think you can call a SW board reality, but heh! who cares.

Sorry for the dropping off the face of the earth. I was in San Antonio and was there without a computer. Look for question 3 to be posted tonight. It will be interesting to see who finds it first.

For my blog, has begun the acquisition of the titanium line. Of course I am way behind, but I have 4 figures now with the recent acquiring of a speeder bike. I believe I may splurge this week and get an ultimate vehicle and shell out the 18 bucks.

    ref,

was in San Antonio and was there without a computer

what? no friends close by, no kinkos in the area, no libraries, no schools,
no internet cafes, no wi-fi, ............

    ok, enough teasing:)

I too am currently on the road, (in Bloomington at the I.U. library)

and so, can only access on line sporadically (gee, what a word)

anyway, will do best to keep up with all.

unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it I was at a conference and with my down time I did hit the triathlon training pretty hard. So question 4 and 5 for all the marbles will be run on a much tighter ship. Don't worry Ed I won't let you down

I'm surprised at the lack of comments re: my post about holding a 30th anniv. event locally. Or not. It's hard to rally the troops. ;-)

    Hi,
    JediMasterDerek

ref mock 30-th event........(or any South Bend Event)

    and, ref.......rallying the Troops..........

and, ref.........comments.......yes, thought there might be more,

thus.........ref all of the above in this post,

Would be happy to attend any South Bend Event, that did not conflict with any other
    commitments that I have
(once I commit to a STAR WARS event, no other STAR WARS event can supercede it)

Thus, SW events, planned well in advance, tend to get worked into my life first.

so far, in my limited travels, I have seen no other such events planned, just talked of...
But, my guess is that there will be something somewhere by someone....

There.........hopefully this post and yours might generate some more comments
on 30-th anniversary events, including, official, unofficial, and mock....

Well JMD and MT unfortunately this board has trouble getting events down and getting them done. As for a 30th anniversary celebration we can come to my house and see Ep4 on DVD the original version because I can guarantee I will bet getting this in September. Probably before I get ep. III

Ed....what is the Hollywood, I assume a theatre. I was hoping the Debartolo Theatre in this area would do Ep. IV as it was nixed last year.
