Could somebody explain what the difference is between, or Earth counterparts of the following are:

    Durasteel
    Transparisteel
    Plasteel
    Duracrete
    Permacrete
    Plascrete
    Steelcrete

    Thanks,

Transparisteel- Transparisteel is transperant (hence the name) and is what they use for X-wing canopies and armored windows and such.

    Transparisteel is essentially glass.

    Duracrete is concrete.

    Durasteel is a metallic concrete.

The others I've never heard of.

    Here's what I think:

Durasteel - I think this is a special kind of metal alloy, universally used.

Transparisteel - glass, or synthetic glass (bulletproof, etc.).

Plasteel - a sort of plastic, similar to what small makeshift "buildings" are made from.

    Duracrete - concrete.

Permacrete, Plascrete, Steelcrete - all these are versions of concrete, with different admixtures for difrerent use.

I've always thought of permacrete as being a sturdeir, longer lasting form of duracrete.

Oh. I thought it might have been stonework, as opposed to poured concrete.

I think that because of perma -- as in permanent.
